Lois Lerner has got to be wondering what will be found. She knows what she wrote, and she knew enough to take the Fifth Amendment. Lois Lerner, now retired and enjoying a six-figure income courtesy of taxpayers, has plenty of time to wonder which of her emails are now in the hands of congressional investigators. Bernie Becker of The Hill reports:
An inspector general investigating the IRSs improper scrutiny of Tea Party groups has found thousands of emails from Lois Lerner, the agency official at the center of that controversy, according to committees involved in the probe.
Treasurys inspector general for tax administration (TIGTA) said it found roughly 6,400 emails either to or from Lerner from between 2004 and 2013 that it didnt think the IRS had turned over to lawmakers, the congressional committees said. The committees have yet to examine the emails, aides on Capitol Hill said.
Thats only about 4 emails per workday for the period in question, but they might be the incriminating ones, since other emails were already turned over, while these were the ones that were destroyed (we are supposed to believe that this was inadvertent according to IRS commissioner Koskinen). How many other emails remain lost? I have no idea.
How long can it take to review the recovered emails? Well see what the committee staffs do, and how this plays out. The longer it takes, the closer we get to the 2016 election.
Meanwhile, Lois Lerner has got to be wondering what will be found. She knows what she wrote, and she knew enough to take the Fifth Amendment.
Tick, tick, tick, tick.

When the proof starts to put her in harms way watch how fast she rolls over and throws her liberal friends under the bus.

Am betting Lerner rolls the dice and sticks to her story. Going to very hard for her to make much of a deal this late in the game.

You morons have heard the last from Lois Lerner. Just because they have allegedly found more emails means nothing. She is done with this side show and witch hunt and will not be indicted, charged or appearing before any other committees or panels.....period.

How has the unearthing of Lerner's e-mails become a conspiracy?
Really doesn't matter what her e-mails say to a troll like 3jerk.

The right wing conspiracy belief is that the auditing of tea party and right wing 501c(4) non-profit organizations was initiated and encouraged by the White House, and the emails will reflect such. In other words, they have no idea what emails will reveal, but they want to look for anything that might be controversial.

You're correct...I could give a rats ass about her email contents, it is morons like yourself who have your panties all in a wad over emails.

I am unaware of anyone suggesting it was initiated by the W.H., but I don't believe it was discouraged by some of the higher ups in the Administration. The appropriate investigating Committee's do want to determine if there was any complicity and by whom. Surely you want to know of any illegalities did occur do you not? If it was a Republican Administration you would be screaming to the high heavens for an investigation and not be claiming it was a 'conspiracy'.

Why would the "higher ups" be involved in the day to day operations of a department completely governed and administered by civil servants? The IG report determined that nothing illegal occurred, so why the need to review other documents? The IRS has the duty to ensure that, when an organization applies for an exemption, the majority of the funds collected by that 501c(4) organization goes toward the intended purposes that permitted the tax free exemption in the first place. The IRS must do it's job, no matter who it offends.

That the emails were found means somebody lied to congress.
