C'mon, Gatekeeper, don't get your skivvies in a knot here.

Consider the following:

1. It is no secret Putin has NO respect for Obama at all (as well as many other world leaders);
2. It was Putin which pleaded with America not to go down the road of socialism because of the misery it brought the old Soviet Union, but it hasn't slowed Obama down one bit. http://inkslwc.wordpress.com/2009/02/19/vladimir-putin-warns-us-not-to-fall-into-socialism/
3. In the case of Syria, any fool could see Obama tried to portray himself as a valiant, righteous leader who was going to punish the Syrian government for using chemical weapons. As facts came to light, there was a rebel group who claimed responsibility and indicated they wanted to kill more civilians with WMD. Then the government of Syria said it did not used WMD on civilians and was investigating this. Then Obama back-peddled his rhetoric and wanted an attack which would amount to nothing but theater. Finally, Putin stepped up and said he would take all those weapons away from Syria which resonated with a great majority of the American public.

I find it alarming the leader of Russia is more in tune with the thoughts of the American public than the current occupant of the White House. It underlines the common perception Obama is out of touch or trying to make a legacy for himself as a noble leader instead of a Marxist, radical, racist clod who has earned the disdain of so many of his own citizens and world leaders.

More than anything, I think you attacked OldRoy because the quote is quite believable by most people. It speaks volumes that people would not see it as a joke and think Russia's Putin was right on making such a comment. That alone should be enough to have liberal posters crying in their caramel lattes while sitting on an environmentally-friendly sofa at the same time being fanned with a current edition of The New York Times.

OldRoy: Thanks for the laugh! :-D

Another joke-sorta-
Question: How many Republicans does it take to make a deal or obey a law?

answer: Nobody knows---until their 'Tea Party' masters give them permission.

Took that long to figure it out? Putin made Obama look weak and that's a fact.

OK...I did it again. Put the quote in the search because I thought maybe I missed something. I got the same result. It's a made up quote, "allegedly said, off the record".
There are no facts here to run from. But don't let that stop you from drawing your own facts out of thin air.

If your point is that I try to check the assertion....well yeah. I double checked, because oldroy likes to ask whether people check the sources his posts. Did it last night, did it this morning just to please oldroy.

Here's why I don't think the "joke" is funny. He posted it on this thread and another as though it were true. Since it isn't true, your conclusion that Putin made Obama look weak is not a fact because the quote is not a fact.

Don't liberals and conservatives have enough trouble communicating without throwing in red herrings?

Schuler: We can joke all day, but until we draw a line in the sand and separate Right from Wrong - not because it is the right thing to do, but more important that our children can see it! Being Democrat or Republican has only flamed the fire of stupidly in this Country! Our Founding Fathers were deadly earnest against political parties - they knew there evil in government for the people.
People who are ashamed of what they are often try to be called something different because they think a different name may lend some respectability.
Prisoners want to be called inmates
School teachers and administrators want to be called educators
Queers want to be called gay
Waiters and waitresses want to be called servers
Negros want to be called black or African American or whatever the title du jour is
Politicians want to be called public servants
And on and on
A rose by any other name smells the same

The joke and the imagery are great but I agree it should be told as such, as Shulers not so funny joke but he at least doesn't try to give it a historical life.

Maybe you should check the press clipping from overseas, several used those words 'America looks weak', 'White House is Confused' and the like. Barry will do his soft shoe with Iran like he did in Egypt, Lybia and Syria and get stepped all over.

I concur. As I mentioned in another post, I suppose this means that I, and now oldroy, will have to take our Honorable Discharges from military service down from the wall, since we so obviously aren't "real"Americans.

Rest assured, BanjoJack, real Americans thank you for your service to our country. It was your dedication to duty and honor which allows the malcontents the right to post their dribble freely in this forum, but at the same time they have trouble appreciating anything of value.

Again, thank you for your service!

A few facts and they run. Putin took their leader to the wood shed and made Obama look weak on the world stage.

Take a look at the last line of this article: http://freepatriot.org/2013/10/03/russian-president-vladamir-putin-says-exterminate-islamic-radicals-like-cockroaches/ and you'll see we are not the only ones who realize that Putin sometimes is more in line with American thinking than the current occupant of the White House.

War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Hmmm-and it appears that negotiating with Reep's and Tea Baggers is as futile an endeavor as 'herding cats'!
That's another joke-sorta.---but perhaps more factual than OldRoy's!! heh-heh-heh-har-har-har-this is FUN!

bmac32 is absolutely correct. Obama is no match for Putin who was a KGB colonel long before he became president. Not only is he one mean dude but he is smart as a whip and has outsmarted Obama at every turn. Good Luck America !!!
