I have seen the same attitude that you state, "not in my job description" can become a mantra..

But nasty as that is, it does not negate the question. You clearly state the businesses of today treat their people very well.

So, do you think they will continue to do so when the possibility of a union work shop no longer exists?

I will bet any amount against that becoming the usual circumstance in a non-union world, which we are rapidly approaching..

I stated the majority of US businesses treat their employees well. And yes, people do well without unsions. I think the extreme decline of union membership in the private sector speaks for itself. Only the gubmnt entities continue to see high levels of union membership.

I can negotiate all by myself. I don't want a union holding me back.

False Claims, False Promises: Why “Right to Work” Is Wrong for Everyone

The facts below illustrate why right to work is wrong for workers, businesses, and our economy. (You can also download this fact sheet as a PDF.)

Wrong for workers

These laws drive down wages for all workers, including non-union members, women, and people of color.
Workers living in right-to-work states earn about $1,500 less per year than workers in states without these laws. The wage penalty is even higher for women and workers of color.
Workers in right-to-work states are less likely to have health insurance.
The rate of employer-sponsored health insurance for workers in right-to-work states is 2.6 percentage points lower than in states without these restrictions.
Right to work makes workplaces more dangerous.
According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the rate of workplace deaths is higher in right-to-work states.

Wrong for businesses

Right-to-work laws do not improve business conditions in states.
Right to work is not a deciding factor in where businesses locate.
High-tech companies that provide good-paying, American jobs favor states where unions have a strong presence, because unions provide a high-skilled workforce and decrease turnover.

Wrong for the economy

Communities lose jobs when wages are lowered by right to work.
The Economic Policy Institute estimates that for every $1 million in wage cuts, the local economy sheds six jobs.
Right to work does not improve the employment rate.
In fact, seven of the 11 states with the highest unemployment rates have right-to-work laws on the books.
According to a report from Ohio University, these laws actually led to a decrease in employment in certain industries.

Right to work proponents are wrong

Right-to-work supporters hide behind the claim that right to work protects workers who don’t want to join a union or agree with a union’s politics.
But federal labor law already protects workers who don’t want to join a union or make political contributions.
Right to work’s true purpose is to hurt the ability of unions to advocate for all workers and serve as a check on corporate greed.

J, br br I can only say, chew on this for a while... (show quote)

Well, I've lived and worked in RTW states and all this you presented is bullshit, pal. The only thing hurt by going to a RTW state is the unions and all the member dues they funnel to the Democrat Party...that's it, none of that other crap has come about or had any affect. I take it that you have NEVER lived, or worked in a RTW state? I thought so, all your bullshit depicts that.

The unions don't work for the worker like they used to.Today they're in bed with the gov't.Corruption has run amuck for the last fourty years.Look what had happend in Detroit with the auto workers whose union bankrupted a city thanks to the liberal voting over the last 50 years.

Then you come to the biggest kabal of all the teachers unions our kids are getting dumber and dumber bye the generation.Teachers that can't be firedThere are no more checks and balances they teach there filth with impunity to make our kids little card carring socialist or communist growing up to hate there parents, religion, their country if they can actually find it on the map.Do we really need a group of people in power who don't work for youn anymore. Why throw billions of our hard earned dollars into an entity that's already in bed with the gov't.

I say no more i say we take our money out of the teachers union and allow parents to pick a school of there choice the Dem's won't go for that.

Since it appears that all the states with RTW laws fare better than those that don't, it would seem to any THINKING person that being Ruled, Regulated, and Robbed by Unions is NOT beneficial to working people. The biggest reason to kick out compulsory unionism is because it is UNAMERICAN.

Take a look at these then provide links that support your statement that RTW states fare better.

Aaaahhhh, spoken like a true communist. Unions are nothing but money laundering services, members dues are funneled to the Democrat Party, without any say so by the member. A person should not have to be required to join a union, or pay union dues. Right-to-work works in every state it has been tried. Only a Democrap fool would not want to work in a RTW state.

You will probably find that the anti-union posters on this forum are old, dried up has beens who have been duped into believing that unions are evil. I would also be willing to bet that a lot of them were once union members who are currently enjoying the retirement benefits they gained from being card carrying members. Pathetic, hypocritical losers are what they are.
