Auntie, I was a member of the 3rd infantry, Olde Guard and I spent many hours placing flags in front of the Arlington tombstones. It seems my boots were a perfect 12 inches long and that got me chosen for flag duty quite often. (You put your boot heel against the stone and placed the flag in front of the toe).

If you can ever say a cemetery is beautiful, the sight of all the headstones at Arlington, on the hills, with wreaths at each stone, is beautiful.
I know I am quite late posting this. Time is short before the laying.
