IMO, it would hard to top Tennessee Ernie Ford for singing any gospel song.

Just a thought for you. My son was in a car accident when he was 15 years old. His sister was driving and it was raining and the car went out of control and smashed into a tree on my sons side of the car. He loved Christian music and so we played Christian music on a small tape player with earphones for him whenever we were in the room. He was in a coma for I believe two weeks and we had gone through the rehab talk long term care etc. and it was at point that I went to my sons room and started praying even more earnestly than before for his recovery. It was during one of those prayer times that he awoke from his coma. He awoke and never had to go to any rehab whatsoever. In fact he was really anxious to get home because there was a new group coming to sing at our church on a Sunday evening service. He was able to make and even was invited to go back stage at Michael W. Smith concert. Don't know if this helps but the Lord does answer prayer.

Thank you, AuntiE. I believe the man was actually from Texas.  I also listened to his 'In The Garden' on the same video lineup provided on this link.

I now must run to visit Red in the hospital. He has pneumonia, again. :-(

Sounds like the majority of people on this thread need to take their blindfolds off! And this is a political site not a religious site!

Last Thursday was the 4th anniversary of losing our 8-yr. old grandson, Bryson. With the situation of Christopher's coma hanging over us daily, I am reminded of our previous loss. As it has been said, "time heals all wounds", both physical and emotional. I now give more time remembering the joy Bryson brought in his short life than I do dwelling on his passing.

I have posted Bryson's last school photo taken just prior to that tragedy as my avatar. He will serve as a reminder of how precious life is and how important it is to celebrate life's joys rather than dwelling on the darkness of tragedy. Chris's life has brought much joy to our Family. We will not let this setback diminish that fact as we continue looking to the future and his recovery.

Wonderful, inspiring story. Yes, prayers are important. I wonder if beautiful hymns played played at his bedside would have helped, and might help Christopher.

Nothing is impossible with God. I am aware of two women here, one I know personally, who received miracle healings. The thing to remember (Wed Dev, I talk about it) is FOCUS. If your focus is no God, he CAN do ALL things. Can't say more or I'll tell my devotional.

Please edit the line from "no God" to "on God" please.
It bothers me even though I know it was just a mistake.
Thanks.

No music was played on my time with Chris at bedside. I may talk to his Mother about that possibility today. I can see no reason it shouldn't be allowed. BTW, Bahmer, I did appreciate your story and feel badly that I had not said so before.

Thanks for both your story, and NPP's suggestion.

Good morning all. SWMBO and I did not get much sleep last night, so in the middle of the night we grabbed our coats and went out to sit on the porch swing, talk and gather our thoughts. Yesterday we had our second visit with "David" the newest of "our boys" It was a tough afternoon. fortunately the neighbors came over and brought three of the newest kids, around ten weeks old, and maybe 15 pounds each. At maturity Nigerian Dwarf goats weight around 50 pounds, and these were about three pounds each at birth. "David" spent at least an hour talking to the goats and trying to figure out what they should be named, finally settling on "Faith" "Hope" and "Charity". fortunately they are all female, but I don't thing that goats have any problem with gender confusion so wouldn't have cared. Animals are one of the best ways to get an abuse victim to begin talking, and three years being forced into doing child pornography and prostitution means he has a lot of talking he needs to do and it going to be tough. After the neighbor took the goats home (they are now leash trained, so walk with him) we did get some talking done. The psychiatrist had said that he kept asking "what if someone sees the pornography and recognizes me". Tough question to answer, so we were instructed to answer "if they do it is because they are voluntarily doing
something illegal. Something you were forced to participate in" And slowly get him to talk about his fears and shame. Conversation started but a long way from finished. So that's what SWMBO and I discussed most of the night. A long depressing conversation to say the least. Finally the sky began to lighten and the fog creep in. Owls were talking , the deer were walking in the woods, occasionally calling to each other, and the early morning birds began singing. The Carolina wrens in particular brighten up the dawn with their songs of joy and celebration We spent time asking God to guide us and give us strength in this endeavor, and then finished our prayers so we could begin the mundane part of the day, knowing we would have His help as needed. If I knew of a youtube version of "Morning Has Broken" I would post it here, but I don't Sorry.
God Bless you All.
