My VA card that says I am a 100 percent service connected disabled veteran qualifies me as a card crying American. It's smart mouths like you that will eventually get your eggs scrambled due to your own mouth someday. I pray that The Lord will open your eyes and enlighten your heart before that happens. God bless you and have a nice day.

I totally agree with you. In Iraq and Syria, tribal wars have gone on for centuries. It is yet another war we can not win. No more blood for money.

I voted for Obama twice and make no apologizes for that. But the situation in the Middle East, as now constituted, is not winnable. In general, these are a fractious people for whom contention and violence has bee a way of life for thousands of years. Read the Old Testament. But then our European ancestors were no less peace loving--at least those with power. Obama talks of "degrading" ISIL. The only way to deal with a virus is to totally destroy it. If not totally destroyed it will mutate and continue spreading. Already we read of ISIL adjusting (mutating) in response to U.S. bombing. And even if every last ISIL member is killed another movement (virus) will emerge. Until the nations of the Middle East deal with tribalism, corruption, and the plethora of vagaries endemic to The Islamic culture it will continue to be more of the same ad infinitum.

Thor; your comment is lucid and accurate. We have enough history to teach us that playing at war does not work. Body count is meaningless.

I agree that we should not put one more American in harms way for these people. I fear though that this will escalate as soon as elections have passed. Again, history has shown how it works. The tar baby always wins.

By the way, as you see your choice of the words 'card carrying' brought out the element here who lay in wait to pounce on any expression of patriotism. They interpret what you said as you are more American than they are. While the rational people here know what you meant, I say, well sir, you are.

Being a citizen of the United States and being an American are unfortunately today, not synonymous.
