A recent NBC News Poll lists the top two concerns for Biden supporters and the top two concerns for Trump supporters. The poll indicates that among strong Biden supporters, the top two issues are... Abortion and Uniting the Country.

Regardless of how you feel about abortion, the fact remains that this is a big concern for many. The second thing to note is that there is a very clear and feasible path for overriding the Supreme Court by passing a law through Congress that guarantees a woman's right to choose. Efforts are already underway to make this happen and Biden has resolved to support the effort.

Again... not arguing whether it's right or wrong, just pointing out that this change is within political reach. The plan already underway *IS* feasible, which is giving the Biden supporters a good reason to vote for him.

The second one, uniting the country, is something I would say is NOT within political reach. This may be a top concern for Biden supporters but whether or not Biden can actually do something about it, is in my opinion, doubtful. The divide is cultural and runs too deep. It may have metastasized into politics under Trump but he certainly didn't create it... Trump was leveraging the divide that was already there, which is something we've never seen a president do before. Trump was the first president to openly favor one half of the American people over the other half and I think avoiding another one-sided presidency is what drives this concern.

Moving over to the other side, the poll indicates that among Trump supporters, the top two issues are... Inflation and Competency.

Personally, I agree with the Trump supporters that inflation is the most pressing issue for most of us, but much like the cultural divide, I think inflation is something that no president can do much about. There are of course lot's of politically motivated theories and baseless accusations that push the narrative that Biden caused inflation, but an honest assessment of our post-pandemic economy, the free market and the banking system will tell us that inflation is being driven by forces that are almost entirely outside presidential control.

Finally, there is competency... a top concern for the first time ever. Perhaps this is because our choice in 2024 is between the two oldest presidential candidates in our history. But it's only a top concern for Trump supporters. Well, Biden *is* four years older, but for his supporters it's not a top concern. For them, Biden seems to have proven himself over the last three years to be fully competent with his decisions, despite his age, his geriatric walk and his stammering at the podium. Some of his supporters also know that he has assembled the youngest administration in history and that he actually listens to them.

On the Trump side, where the concern is elevated to the top notches, it's hard not to see it as a vindictive stab for the constant questioning of Trump's competency during his term. But there is also the fact that right-wing media obscures the very things that assures Biden supporters of their candidates competency, while honing in on his stammering and anything else that emphasizes his age.

I also want to point out that political moves rarely satisfy everyone. Any move a president makes will be strongly opposed by some and regardless of how competent the move might actually be, it's become normal for those in opposition to call it an incompetent move.

So what these four concerns tell us is that Biden supporters are more tuned into reality, with the only concern out of the four that can actually be affected by their supported candidate and the other concern being the only one out of the four that can be avoided by NOT voting for opposing candidate. The Trump supporters seem to be entirely driven by their dislike toward the opponent with one concern that neither of the candidates can fix (so why would it even be an election issue?) and one concern about the opposing candidates (competency) that strongly suggests the concern *should* be about the supporters themselves.

1. Your Concern About Abortion

Your solution is overriding the Supreme Court through Congressional legislation to make it permanent abortion for democrat women.

No, abortion is not part of the Constitution. Congress could not legislate to make it into law so your democrat women could kill their babies any time they want.

It won’t work. Congress is not constitutionally authorized to prescribe a national abortion regimen.

First, there is the Tenth Put Amendment, which mandates that all powers not enumerated and delegated to the federal government are reserved to the states.
And the Supreme Court did the right decision moving the abortion decision to state government.

Congress has an expansive power to regulate interstate commerce. But the court has held that the Commerce Clause covers only those activities that are economic in nature and have a substantial effect on interstate markets. Abortion is not economic in nature!

2. Uniting the Country.
Since Joe Biden came to office 3 years and almost 4 months ago, our country has turned to tyrannic system. The 3 Founding principles do not apply anymore.
The Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights.
The two-tiered Justice system.
Joe Biden has violated so many parts of the Constitution usurping the power that do not belong to him.
He violated and by-passed decisions made by the Supreme Court.

Biden does not enforce the laws that are instituted and provided in the Constitution. Example of this is the Immigration laws. He violated that provision by opening wide the border allowing all enemies of the world to come in invade and kill us. Muslim terrorists are now inside.

He does not enforce the duties assigned for the Executive branch. Number one is to protect and defend the Constitution and the people. But he allowed millions of people from enemy countries to come in and now causing harms killing our people and havoc to our country.

3. Inflation
Biden is the worst president of the United States that brought the US economy to the bottom and made people suffer the highest inflation in history.

The massive spending and using money to buy votes of the people has brought our National Debts to the highest now at $34.97 trillion. IMF has warned that this could not sustain US economy, further, otherwise the US dollar could be finally replaced by other currencies like the BRICS.

4. Competency:
Biden is the most incompetent, stupid, and dumb president that ever occupied the White House. It is tragic how this old, demented man was able to sit at the WH when Biden's County win during the 2020 election was only 477, while Donald Trump was 2,497 Counties. Biden could not even speak at his own mouth, unless reading from the paper written by his writer. Biden stumbling all over the place where he climbs upstairs and where he walks, a shameful scene to the world.

As proven by records and witnesses, Biden is the most corrupt president who ever sit at the White House. Re: Congressional Records and witnesses, e.g. Bobulinske.

In addition, Biden has the dumbest VP, ever elected to office. Her expertise is giggling and a shame to the whole world how America got these two idiots at the White House. For almost 3 years and 4 months, she has done nothing to the country but giggle.

Now United States is about to collapse, loaded with crimes from illegal and local people drugged by the illegal aliens' drugs brought to America.

The most bankrupt country with $34.97 trillion debts that exceed almost 30% of the revenue earned. US spends almost $650 billion for interest paid to the debts annually.

Massive spending buying votes, and printing money.
The highest inflation since WW2, and now most people suffer for lack of affordability to the essentials that they need most of all food.

Most people use CC to buy their essentials. And their debts now have surpassed $1. 5 trillion with interest rate of 21% to 29%.

Most people could not afford to buy food, homes, and rent apartments. Fact is many singles now rent a 4 by 4 Sq. ft. room and use common kitchen and bath with other renters.

Millions are marching on the streets, colleges and universities shouting "Death to America" as they BURN the US FLAGS. And these are Muslims who don't even belong here. But Biden allows them to trample our own and kill our people, and fight law enforcements.

Annually we will be spending almost $600 billion to feed the 15 million invaders. Unless they are deported back ASAP to their country. We are losing millions of our people, and the sovereign rights of this country under Joe Biden.

You have got to be one of the most willfully blind people on the planet.

Says the person who voted for a president who was impeached twice and should have been impeached 3 times and played golf the rest of the time. Oh, and Sleepy Don can't stay awake during the first-ever trial of an X president...for which there will be three more!

Yea, willfully blind, is something you guys know something about!

But according to white KKKers club, the club you belong to, any percentage black makes someone black. But I looked it up, and Obama is at least 52.5% black...50% from his father's line and 2.5% from his mother's line... which clearly, you NEVER looked-up.

BTW, "The Luo people (there is no luo deng that I could find) are from Kenya and Tanzania are a Nilotic ethnic group native to western Kenya and the Mara Region of northern Tanzania in East Africa. The Luo are the fourth-largest ethnic group (10.65%) in Kenya, after the Kikuyu (17.13%), the Luhya (14.35%) and the Kalenjin (13.37%).[3] The Tanzanian Luo population was estimated at 1.1 million in 2001 and 3.4 million in 2020.[2] They are part of a larger group of related Luo peoples who inhabit an area ranging from South Sudan, southwestern Ethiopia, northern and eastern Uganda, southwestern Kenya, and northern Tanzania."

Oh, and never tell someone to look something up unless you've actually looked it up which clearly you didn't...

does Obama's bitter clingers Hillary's insults and Biden's comments not count? Obama is the most divisive president in America's history. Saul Alinsky would be proud.

That’s an interesting way to look at it. It would seem there is that pendulum effect as the electorates change demographics.

The most pressing issue for the most people is illegal immigration, with inflation running a very close second. You say there is not much a president can do about inflation. Printing too much money is a primary cause. Kneecapping your fossil fuel industry, which Biden did his first couple of weeks in office, is another way to really get that inflation ball rolling. Inflation averaged 1.25% under Trump. Biden boasted of "lowering" inflation to "only" 3.5% from a high of 9% brought on in large part by his insane energy policies. Something like 8 out of every 10 dollars currently in circulation has been printed since Biden took office.
The most pressing issue for the most people is ill... (show quote)

Smedley. Inflation under Trump averaged 1.88% not 1.25 and understand...the low inflation rate under Trump came from 2020 which saw the highest number of layoffs ever in the history of our country. And with layoffs coupled with COVID came no spending...so low inflation.

So what happened Bidens first two years? Record hirings and when people finally have money in their pockets what do they do...yes...spend; that coupled with a war in Ukraine plus supply chain issues gave us the high inflation that we see still today. So can Trump do anything about it? Only if he can cause a recession and slowdown hiring. So is that what Trump plans on doing? I sure as hell hope not but if he does what we both know he will blame Democrats all while doing zero to get us out of a recession!

These concerns weren't polled properly. The top concern for Conservatives, beside Joe's massive inflation and the printing of $$$$trillions, is the open border, massive illegal immigration which joe is ruining our country with. His whole admin is incompetent, under qualified and too corrupt to lead our nation. We need a competent President like Trump to lead us back to GREATNESS unlike the very incompetent fool who is sleeping and drooling in our White House.
