I can address that. Wasp spray will deploy up to 20 feet. If he does not shoot you first, spray him with wasp spray. In fact, a NRA instructor told someone that very thing. I just pilfered his recommendation.

Yep your best defence move when unarmed is throwing something in there face (try to target eyes) or a kick in the groin. (I wouldn't get that close though)

Unequivocally do not get within their reach. My immediate thought was if you are at your desk heave the stabler at their eyes. It is likely the heaviest thing at hand unless you have a Waterford paperweight. Those things are heavy. I know!

The very first thing she should do is tell her students to drop flat on the floor and turn their desks onto the floor in front of their bodies.

If the teacher is tactically smart, her file cabinet is next to her door, thus as she locks her door she opening the cabinet to retrieve her gun. If she is even smarter, she has made sure the file cabinet is weighted so she can move it in front of her door.

Going even further, she has purchased a heavy duty home style fire ladder for her classroom to get her students out.

Known fact, every single class has at least one extremely mature responsible student. That student is responsible for getting the ladder while the teacher is guarding her, now file cabinet covered door.

Hopefully, said teacher’s gun is a 45 with hollow point ammunition.

All the above is now standard protocol in a private Yeshiva school since October 2023. It has been practice drilled several times. Gee, I wonder why.

Here's a .45 you can load with 13+1 of hollow point rounds and is very compact.

Really? Geez, that does away with freedom of choice. The last thing anyone wants is a scaredy-cat dweeb with a gun, especially in a school.

As I told Perma, teachers who do not volunteer should be better taught on how to secure their classroom and then get students out of the school. It is completely unacceptable, plus stupid, to have students wait for the cops. Get the kids out of the danger zone!

Go back and see my post on the protocols in place at a Jewish school.

I will do that What was the post title?

The question still stands for you.

If your choice is not to have a gun in school, what is your plan to protect your students?

AuntiE, are you getting CRS? I think you told me it was Wednesday yesterday and I said "I have to take the garbage out to the road".

A law passed by Tennessee congress would allow teachers to carry. They would need a mental check and 40 hours of training and the approval of the school official. It will likely be signed by the governor. Do you think this is a good idea? Should we expand this to other states?

Yes, we protect our money, movie stars, and politicians and should do the same for our schools.

See, I cannot even remember what I told you.

Poor ProgenyE took all the trash out for it not to be picked up. He is not pleased.

Until just a while ago, I thought it was Friday. I am not to be trusted anymore!
