it is all about accessibility for the quick move when the shooter is running up the hall. already locked, loaded and finger on the trigger...

Other than that reality, it is a good idea... where would the placement be?? by the door, in the cloak rooom? next to the flag? near the black broad? do they still use those?

How about the broom closet? The more I write silly, the more the question seems real. by the teachers desk?

A pistol in the pocket. I figure it's up to the teacher

You are a Marine and cannot figure this out?

The very first thing she should do is tell her students to drop flat on the floor and turn their desks onto the floor in front of their bodies.

If the teacher is tactically smart, her file cabinet is next to her door, thus as she locks her door she opening the cabinet to retrieve her gun. If she is even smarter, she has made sure the file cabinet is weighted so she can move it in front of her door.

Going even further, she has purchased a heavy duty home style fire ladder for her classroom to get her students out.

Known fact, every single class has at least one extremely mature responsible student. That student is responsible for getting the ladder while the teacher is guarding her, now file cabinet covered door.

Hopefully, said teacher’s gun is a 45 with hollow point ammunition.

All the above is now standard protocol in a private Yeshiva school since October 2023. It has been practice drilled several times. Gee, I wonder why.

I've carried concealed for twenty-plus years to an ever-changing group. Holster inside the waistband. Unless I wanted them to know, they diddn't. I sometimes "dress around my gun", but I'm no slave-to-fashion, anyway.
The person new to concealed-carry will find it impossible to feel comfortable with a firearm, but that passes, like carrying a wallet, or (sigh)...a cell-phone. Be Safe...

Honestly, any teacher who volunteers for this is gong to already be a gun owner and probably one who goes to the range to shoot and keeps their skills fresh.

Good thinking and logical.. for sure the ladder...

By the door, for sure..

I would change the gun selection,, probably make some options. but say a 9MM would be better for the lady guns, lighter to hold still, low kick back which can be a concern for some. Not real light caliber.. need to have a punch..

Yeshiva ????? lost me.. a location or style?

I agree, the ladder idea is outstanding. Get your students the hades out of the school!

Jewish school. The plan was designed by an IDF soldier visiting her family when the October attack took place. Unconfirmed rumor other Jewish schools have implemented similar protocols. It would seem the Jews highly value their children.

A law passed by Tennessee congress would allow teachers to carry. They would need a mental check and 40 hours of training and the approval of the school official. It will likely be signed by the governor. Do you think this is a good idea? Should we expand this to other states?

It should not end with 40 hours of training. They should continue at a bare minimum quarterly to stay current

Which brings up one more possable downside, the emotional view of the prospective teacher.. You I would see as a plus and do well. but I think many who would elect to be a teacher would not be versed in gun use or want to be.. but you did say volunteer so that would clear the undecided.....

So any state which elects this action will have a lot to consider in getting it done.. I would hope the publicizing would be sufficient to make the sicko pass on the school target..

Concealed-carry citizens are the most rational, reserved and self-disciplined people in the populace.
Combine those traits with a quality training course and you've got a powerful group of folks to protect our kids.
Do you have a problem with this statement ? What's your alternative ?
And the Seniors? Not only would students have added protection, but there would be some wisdom, some life-experience roaming the halls.
Yes, XXX, GREAT idea.
