NY rules. Ten peremptory challenges only per side, otherwise they have to be able to show cause why the judge should dismiss one. This judge was tough on the "show cause" challenges. IMHO, that's what will be the grounds for appeal after case ends - if there's not a stealth juror who manages to hang it.

That's a good point, such a fast jury selection. Maybe all the attorneys recognize the case is over before it starts? Surely there must be public records with the NYPD about Stormy's prostitution history and how much money she has received from the Congressional Slush/hush fund or Clinton Foundation.
