I liked, no loved, it also. Let's have some Life huh?

This sounded fishy to me so I did a search for "preparing to say goodbye by Clint Eastwood". Looks like Fact check.org says that this is circulating on the internet and it is not by Mr. Eastwood. They went on to say that stories attributed to famous people often do circulate, especially during election season. One should check sources when it looks too good to be true.
Lighten up butter cup. How come you think only one side lies?

My Twilight Years at 90. If you realize each day is a gift, you may be near my age. As I enjoy my twilight years, I am often struck by the inevitability that the party must end.
There will come a clear, cold morning when there isn't any "more." No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat. It seems to me that one of the important things to do before that morning comes is to let every one of your family and friends know that you care for them by finding simple ways to let them know your heartfelt beliefs and the guiding principles of your life so they can always say, "He was my friend, and I know where he stood.”
"So, just in case I'm gone tomorrow, please know this: I voted against, Biden, that incompetent, lying, flip-flopping, insincere, double-talking, radical socialist, terrorist excusing, bleeding heart, narcissistic, scientific and economic moron that spent eight years in the White House with Obama trying to destroy our wonderful country and turn it into Muslim loving, socialist crap hole like Obama came from and I don't mean Hawaii! Participating in a gun buy-back program because you think criminals have too many guns is like having yourself castrated because you think your neighbors have too many kids.”

It sounded fishy to me also, especially the change in tone from sentimental to scorn. Clint has been a great actor, far greater than he had originally been given credit for.
Richard Burton who starred with him on Where Eagles Dare, said he was one of the best actors he ever worked with; that he was a throwback to the Gary Cooper style. Critics said Eastwood never said anything. Burton said he didn't have to.
America has always had an inferiority complex when it came to things British but Burton told Clint that there was no reason for it. He often said we were good here.
When Clint was on the set of Rawhide, he'd spend his time with the camera technicians asking them why they shot a scene one way or another. He learned their craft and as much about other aspects of production as he could. When he went to his doing his own production, Malpaso, he knew the ins & outs. His movies constantly came in under budget.
Rather than Methed, he used the old was of showing himself, sad or happy or, questioning or whatever. He had more in common with John Wayne, James Stewart, Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney than he did with James Dean, Montgomery Clift, Paul Newman, etc.
He composed the music on at least one of his own movies and that was him playing the piano. He also sanf in Paint Your wagon with Lee Marvin. A Renaissance Man.

What is most interesting about the whole thread is rather then focusing on the accuracy of the initial statements, the time consuming debate as to whether Eastwood said the accurate information.

Actually, for the umpteenth time, you're wrong again. I hate/fear flying and always have. Car, RV or train.

It didn’t sound like something Eastwood would say - accurate or not

Read the link offered in my initial post on this thread for accuracy, according to his spokesman, of him making any such remarks. The exact same statement, except for focusing on Obama, was purportedly given by Eastwood about the 2012 campaign. He didn't make the statement in 2012-13 nor in 2020-21.
FOX paid around 3/4 of a billion dollars for spreading lies. Eagle will be spared such a penalty.

I've been a huge fan of Clint since his 'Rawhide' days..to include his spaghetti westerns, his directorial debut in 'Play Misty for Me' and all subsequent films with which he was associated.

Untrue. We can admit Trump says things that aren’t nice and extreme. Your
cult sees nothing wrong at all with Dementia Joe and his governance.
Being in Texas, support your
cult leader and take in a few dozen illegal immigrants.
