Guess there aren't too many in TX willing to put their $$ where their mouths are. $150M spent vs $550k donated.

" Texas Gov. Greg Abbott boasted shortly after he began soliciting private donations for his controversial migrant busing program that there would likely “be no cost to the state” given the outpouring of support from concerned citizens across the country.

But after nearly two years of fundraising to offset the program’s costs, Abbott’s operation has collected less than half of 1% of the roughly $150 million spent on busing migrants to sanctuary cities, according to a review of state records. And CNN found that the largest donation – $900,000 – never made it into the state’s coffers, either because it was a mistake or a prank.

Records show that at most, around $550,000 has been raised to date."

Looks like Abbott's assessment that everyone in Texas and every banana slug in a red hat everywhere else was as cruel and underhanded as he was. His "go fund me" scheme ended up by dumping the cost of Abbott's race with DeSantis to see who could be the named as the nations biggest douche bag right in the laps of the citizens of Texas. Truth is that if Texas continues to insist on electing the worst that the state has to offer then they deserve to empty their wallets sending immigrants to places that they would most likely rather be than in Texas in the first place.

What is "cruel and underhanded" about sending illegal aliens to sanctuary cities that welcome them and have indicated they will care for them?

The savings to Texas, of not having to perpetually provide "services" to those ILLEGALS will far more than offset their shipping costs.

Some of those ILLEGALS have demonstated that they are sub-human, thus animals is an appropriate term.

Half of Texas is sub human. Where do you come off criticizing half of your fellow Texans?

If we want to play the "whatabout" game - Why do OUR federal dollars go to help southern states hit over and over by hurricanes, or Midwestern states hit by tornadoes and floods, or Texas when the power fails during a snow or ice storm and your Senator Cruz runs away to avoid it... I have no problem doing that.
We New Yorkers don't complain that our federal tax dollars go to where they are needed to save lives - even though our roads may be full if potholes and our bridges continue to close because we aren't getting any federal dollars for repairs.

I cheered for the infrastructure bill - even though a lot of that money is going to provide people in more rural areas with reliable Internet service - which most of us in NYS already have.

I want everyone to prosper and be able to live their best lives. That is why I support Democrats over Republicans right now.

When the focus of a political party is on one goal and only one goal the problem ceases to be "if" a disaster will happen and becomes a "when". That time is pretty much now. The right wingers are convinced that tax cuts for the rich are the answer to everything. Trickle down is the answer to the worlds problems say the mega wealthy responsible for the trickle. If someone claims that the trickle down is occurring you can ge sure that he is watching David Koch wet his pants.

The conclusion is that if you support the well being of the American people you are almost certainly a Democrat. If you believe that all good things are the result of the generosity of the 1% then you are almost certainly a republican.
That's the reason that republicans have to restrict or stop public voting. They are in such a minority with such unpopular aspirations that they would not be able to even reach the status of "also ran" in any election that was free and fair and especially if their horrific aspiration became known.

Quite a switch from his 2016 campaign promise that he would build "a great big beautiful wall" and "Mexico's gonna pay for it"

He had a significant majority in the Senate and House for the first two years. Why didn't he get anything big done besides changing the tax code?

His problem was that he had no idea how to do the job and still no idea what the Constitution contains.

Nonsense. Don't you read, Ma'am? Trump did NOT have a significant majority in Congress....you are counting Republicans, and way WAY too may of them were never-Trumpers the likes of Romney and Cheney. Also, he was engulfed in the Russian Collusion Delusion, and had a very hard time getting backing for his policies. Plus Pelosi was leading a full on war to prevent Trump from getting ANYTHING done, with the willing help of the rinos.

DJ should have offered to build that wall on Mexico's southern border. Half the distance and at Mexican wages, a quarter the cost. And maybe Mexico could have been talked into paying for at least part of it!

That is actually a good idea. Who knows if Trump offered it to them? And Biden could do the same thing.

Plus we could PAY Mexico to host the asylum seekers. It would be cheaper, and provide so economic reliif to Mexico.

You're obviously good at math. How much do you think it would've cost the state of Texas to keep them here? Housing, food, clothing, education, healthcare, etc.

So even ABC news can only say the part about not knowing where they came from isn't true...

https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/fact-focus-biden-falsely-accused-secret-flights-hundreds-107867894

And they reported that the author of the article cited has said, "...that he doesn't consider the program secretive, but finds it enigmatic and lacking in transparency.”

If you want to call that a win, knock yourself out brother.
