A group of far-left Democrat lawmakers are calling for a $14 trillion payout to black Americans to make them whole for the human bondage suffered by some of their ancestors and have brought forth legislation to get the ball rolling on federal reparations.

The legality of the controversial scheme is even more dubious than the idea that it could be sold to the electorate as a whole but the biggest stumbling block could be the price tag, although one member of “The Squad” has suggested that it can be made to happen with a bit of creative financing.

Rep. Jamaal Bowman (R-NY) who is one of the co-sponsors of H.R. 414, titled, “Recognizing that the United States has a moral and legal obligation to provide reparations for the enslavement of Africans and its lasting harm on the lives of millions of Black people in the United States” is demanding the federal government be held responsible for slavery with the remedy being throwing $14,000,000,000,000 at a concocted problem that only exists in the minds of leftists.

According to the Journal News, “There are about 42 million African Americans in the United States, representing 12% of our nation’s population, according to the 2020 census. That means the proposed reparations program could deliver roughly $333,000 per person. Bowman said it could be paid over decades.”

“Who says the $14 trillion needs to be paid out in one shot?” Bowman asked.“It might be possible for it to be paid out over 5 or 10 or 20 years. You could take that $333,000 and break it up into monthly checks over X amount of time. There are creative ways to do the right thing and do what needs to be done.”

Bowman, who recently made news for illegally pulling a fire alarm and shutting down Congress, brought up some examples of large government outlays such as the COVID pandemic and the 1960s-1970s “space race” when he suggests that money was simply conjured up out of thin air.

“When COVID was destroying us, we invested in the American people in a way that kept the economy afloat,” the volatile lawmaker told the outlet. “The government can invest the same way in reparations without raising taxes on anyone.”

“Where did the money come from?” Bowman asked. “We spent it into existence.”

According to the legislation which was introduced last year: “Whereas financial reparations must be paid by the Federal Government for an amount that respected economists have estimated totals, at minimum, $14,000,000,000,000 to eliminate the racial wealth gap that currently exists between Black and White Americans.”

“Whereas scholars have estimated that the United States benefitted from 222,505,049 hours of forced labor between 1619 and the end of slavery in 1865, which would be valued at $97,000,000,000,000 today,” the resolution reads, citing “scholars” who aren’t named but likely include the type of intellectuals and academics who have been poisoning fertile young minds with anti-American, anti-white critical race theory propaganda.

“Our country was not founded on the principle that all people are created equal. It was founded at the expense of the lives, freedoms and well-being of black people, African folks who they stole, whose enslavement, exploitation and dehumanization were written into the Constitution,” said the bill’s chief sponsor, BLM bomb-thrower Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) when it was introduced last May.

Bush has kept up the call for the trillions of dollars to be doled out to undeserving blacks, none of who were ever slaves, and recently took to X to remind Americans that reparations are “OWED” to black folks.

Our country owes–OWES–a debt to the descendants of enslaved Black people, not just for slavery, but for what followed, like Black Codes, red lining, Jim Crow, and mass incarceration. That’s why I introduced my Reparations NOW resolution. This country has an obligation. — Cori Bush (@CoriBush) January 8, 2024

In addition to Bowman and Bush, the legislation’s other co-sponsors include Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Barbara Lee (D-CA), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Summer Lee (D-PA), Al Green (D-TX) and a half dozen others.

Bowman told the Journal News that the $14 trillion price tag could swell to $16 trillion to account for inflation by the time that it passes.

“Let’s say the investment of $16 trillion will yield $100 trillion on the back end,” he said. “It’s just like when you invest in child care. Every dollar you invest in child care yields $14 on the back end.”

So the left is still "buying" black people. Not surprised! Note: there are no living African Americans in this country that I know of who was a slave and deserves to receive "wages" as a result of their labor. And if there is, they should sue the person/s who enslaved them for back wages. There you go, simple solution.

HELL NO! It will never be enough! Later on down the road, it will be something else. It is always give me, give me, give me. I would be more than happy to pay for a trip to IRAN and North Korea for them to live there. Their life expectancy will be about two years. They will be hollering to get back to America. You can never satisfy these dumb asses. Truth is truth and it is what it is.

Good questions and I believe you're right about the social posturing . If they are serious about the reparations they would have to go back to the shipping records. There were about 12.5 million slaves shipped to the Americas but only about 388,000 were dropped off in north America. There were four million freed by the 13th amendment . Now there are 42 million African Americans living in the US. So take the 388,000 and give them the 333,000 dollars each. I know they aren't around to collect it but their descendents are divide the money between them. Six generations later like now each African American would get maybe 5 grand . I'll do the math and get back to you

I could not agree more. There was this Black Man i knee whose Grandfather who had been a slave. He use to say that this nation does not owe you a damn thing. He use to say you are free now and go out and make something of it. I grew up with Blacks on a farm. My Grandfather took care of three Black Children who lost their family when they were children. I remember sitting at the table and Bill, the oldest of the three, asked the question what was a Ni#&er at the time. My Grandfather answered the question very honestly and told the kids never let that word define them. All three kids ended up being college graduates. The girl ended up being a school teacher, Bill served 25 years in the military as an Officer and the youngest became a Doctor. He was a Family Practitioner and trained future doctors in this Specialty. Bill use to say that nobody gave his family a damn thing. He looked at me and winked. That is what he taught me. All these people came to his funeral plus other Blacks who were his neighbors. Three Black Men were Pallbearers at his funeral. This is a testimony to what kind of a man he was to these people.

Ok. I done the math at$ 333000 each the 388,000 original slaves stolen from Africa would get 130 billion divided by 42 million would give each African American dependent 3 thousand one hundred dollars a piece doled out over ten years is three hundred and ten bucks a year for the next ten years.. Or 25 bucks a month. Might be worth it to shut them up
But I still don't think they deserve it

Why shouldn't the Seller"s, other Africans be responsible for reperations?

Absolutely, sold out by your own people, but then you sue the people who freed you instead?

My grandfather came from Norway at the age of 12 with 11 brothers and sisters in 1908. So how does any of the descendants from this family owe anything? We weren’t involved in any way with slavery. I am listed as a Democrat so I can vote in the primary but consider myself an independent. Would all the successful, rich blacks (athletes, actors, musicians, scientists, military officers, politicians etc.) get reparations as well? I just wish MAGA would go away so that I would once again have a choice of candidates. The way things are today, those in the middle are forced to go left or deal with the narcissistic chaos and constant lies of the Republican Party.

What makes "Make America Great Again" the problem. They're not asking for reparations. Apparently your okay with collusion hoax by the left, the suppressed laptop, 51 agents signing off on the lie, suppressing speech that doesn't support your ideology, going after parents who are trying to protect their kids as terrorist, unlimited influx of invaders at our borders at a cost to the already suffering minority parties, Joe lying about not talking to son about business, fear mongering and lying to the American people about our economy....... I could go on and you might consider them if you truly were an independent but I can tell by your blaming the opposing party for all the wrongs in America that your just another woke Democrat who doesn't bother to look at both sides of a coin. Have a good day and less power to ya!
