I hate evil. And when evilness has possessed someone who acts hatefully, I still hate the evilness.

The person is difficult to like because the evil disguises who they really are, but I wouldn’t say I hate them…. I would try to like them from a distance. I would not say I could “love” them because I think you have to know someone to say you love them. Keeping them at a distance keeps you from knowing them…kind of like keeping Satan at a distance. 🙂

I think Jesus would be ok with that.

We are to love the person (he has a soul ) but hate the evil!

I always had a little bit of a problem with "loving" someone I don't know. I've tried to wrap my brain around it several times when someone was being particularly hateful and I am supposed to "love" them. For example, a neighbor shot and killed his grandson's (who lived with him) little puppy because it was whining late at night outside. I had a very hard time even looking at him after he did that. And I can't say I "love" him when I see him walking down the street, even though I am supposed to do that.

Even in war we may kill our enemy but are not allowed to hate him. That's not an easy task and not often possible considering human emotions.

1 John 1:8-10 KJV

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

The commandment is THOU SHALT NOT KILL. Consider the story of the good samaritan. They were enimies. Jesus would not have embraced the samaritan killing his wounded enemy. Love your enimies,do good to them that hate you. If your enemy is hungry feed him, if he thirsts give him to drink, for in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head. Vengeance is mine i will repay says the lord! For you will hear of war and rumors of war see to it that you are not afraid.

Ur not supposed to hate the sinner, like God, just the sin! We are human but God doesn’t want us to hate! He says if you don’t forgive you won’t be forgiven! It doesn’t mean ya gotta be friends though

David is asking a rhetorical question! He finally realizes it’s the behavior of people that he hates! My opinion

Killing is what you do in self defense to someone out to harm you, your love ones or even your country. You have every right to kill.. Murder is when you are out to take someone's life for no good reason or maybe because you just love the act of taking another person's life and self defense does not enter the picture. You have no right to murder anyone.. Padre is right, the true wording is, "thou shalt not murder".
