Thank you, padre. I always learn so much when you post!! ππππ
I think people who are going to quote the Bible, like dwp666 did with Matthew 7, to try to shove guilt trips on us should at least read the whole Bible so they know what they're talking about instead of just picking out whatever verse sounds like it might work for their agenda!
You know nothing about me. Know what they say about assumptions?
I was raised in the South in the Church of Christ, very similar to Southern Baptists. From birth to the age of 17, church three times a week, VBS in the summers, Church Camp every year. My dad was a Deacon, I was baptized at the age of 12, and my first Bible is still on my bookshelf.
And I can truthfully say that I have read it, in its entirety, more than once. That's not saying that I can quote chapter & verse 50 years later - but I have indeed read it and remember a lot (including all the contradictions it contains). I consider myself spiritual, but no longer believe in the God I was bought up on. That's ππ choice - based on ππ life experiences and ππ own expanding repertoire of thought over the years. Happily, along with three of my siblings I am no longer brainwashed by my upbringing in an evangelical family, although I loved my parents dearly.
I'm "...try(ing) to shove guilt trips on us"? HaHaHa! Are you kidding?
Christianity is all about guilt trips! Too many to even list, that would require a whole new thread just to start and I have no desire to do that.
That being said, I feel zero need to push my agnosticism on anyone, ever, or feel any need to preach it here on social media. I don't wear it on my sleeve any more than I would, say, wear my political preference on my head in the form of a red hat or a huge flag on my pickup.
"Padre" flaunts his religious fervor ππππ ππ πππ ππππππ ππππ. He just can't help himself. That's his choice.
