Red flag laws should be made mandatory for every gun purchaser. There is nothing unconstitutional about outlawing dangerous weapons from sale. Machine guns are certainly outlawed because of the danger they represent, why not assault style rifles? I think that our children must be protected from the crazies that can easily purchase AR rifles.

Salt,
Your a gun owner, so you state.
You surely realize Mayorkas, China Joe & company of socialists are allowing millions across our southern border.
These people are not vetted so we don't know anything about them.
We do know these cartel gangs are extremely dangerous and can be life threatening.
I'll keep my firearms I trained to use in the Army and as a kid.
Incidentally, words out that many now crossing are Chinese ...
Maybe Chicago needs more gun laws as it's out of control up there as is New York.
By the way, I read that Maryland has now passed the "Constitutional Carry" law like we have here in Oklahoma.
That marks the 26th State so now over 50% of the States allow the citizens to carry for protection.
We can thank Biden and Mayorkas for the wonderful Joe of protecting the taxpayers.
Stay safe...😎

They sure as hell can obtain full automatic SUV's and trucks that can kill many people just as guns can. In fact, a truck was used in Europe to kill over 100 people, as I remember. It's not about the gun, it's about the idiot pulling the trigger.

The place to start, before we try to make new laws, is to enforce the current laws. Too many times new gun control proposals would do absolutely nothing to change the problem.

Exactly. There are thousands of gun laws on the books now, dosen't stop anyone from carrying out their plans.

When I enlisted I took an oath which I believe lasts as long as I live.
For me, it’s EXTREMELY simple. I know that the only thing protecting all my other rights is my 2nd amendment rights. It’s also the only thing that keeps the enemies of my nation wary of trying to destroy my nation.
Furthermore, I believe, in my heart, that every politician that wants to infringe, and/or abolish my second amendment rights, and has taken an oath to defend our Constitution, is therefore someone that is party to the true insurrection taking place today.
I will continue to defend our Constitution and our nation against ALL enemies, both foreign and domestic. And right now, the Foreign enemies aren’t even on the horizon.

Second Amendment: A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The last time the Second Amendment was used as it was intended it was when Washington called up the militia of 4 states to put down the Whiskey Rebellion.

Nowhere in the text of the Second Amendment does it give you the power that you say it does.

The leftist Gun Grabbers only want to take away the guns from law abiding citizens. They despise the 2A because it is there for them. If they wanted to take away illegal guns from criminals, they could send a swat team into Chicago or any other Democratic Crime infested city and clean it up in about a week. Put them in jail take away the ILLEGAL guns. They do not have the balls to do that, they do not want to do that. They do not want to prevent your children from being murdered, in fact they are behind the school shootings. They do not care how many children are murdered to promote their agenda of destroying the 2A. Why do we not care enough about our children to place armed guards in the schools, or teachers armed? A gun free zone is just an invitation for these mass shooters, most of which are young men with mental disorders who have been sodomized and given drugs and programmed by the CIA to do these mass shootings. The FBI is in on it to. Well, how did he get through the background check and buy a gun. If it were you or I you would not pass a background check with a criminal background. Everyone needs to wake up and realize these facts. Once the second amendment is gone, we are toast. Just look at history.

And what ‘power’ are you implying? It would appear you know very little about the 2A.

A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, is the introductory (prefatory) clause of the 2nd amendment.

the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed, is the operative clause.

It is simple, the introductory clause states why the right is necessary,
the operative clause states what the right is.

The Second Amendment protects our rights to:

organize a militia;
assist in law enforcement;
defend against an oppressive government;
guard against invasion; and
act in self-defense.

The people are the militia. In order to have a militia capable of defending the security of a free state, the people need to have arms. Remember, at the time the Constitution was written the founders looked at standing armies as potential tools of a tyrannical government.

We do in fact have a well regulated militia in 49 of these 50 states today.
