If they get paid for the work that they do, they should be billed for the rent, food, medical care, etc. that they receive. And maybe they should be required to pay restitution to those they robbed or hurt. IT'S HARD TO FEEL SORRY FOR THOSE WHO GOT THEMSELVES INTO JAIL BY THEIR CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR.

Well...most of you are not very educated in the criminal justice system.
I happen to have extensive knowledge of this field.
But I think I shall stay silent for the moment.
But I'll let you all in on this tidbit:
The general's leather chair, the credenza in the FBI lobby, the office cubicle at the local Social Security office, the khaki shirt wornby the Marine recruiter.. we're all probably made by federal inmates in prison. UNICOR

Prisoners are put to work to give them something to do. That being said, some prisons do compensate prisoners a dollar or two and hour so they'll have a few coins to rub together when they are eventually released.
