On Dr Phil ex prisoner complained that he worked very hard and did not get paid so he compared himself to a s***e.. I thought when you commit crime you have no right to expect to have all the freedoms of law abiding citizens... You are in prison for punishment, NOTHING else!..What do you guys think?Should prisoners get paid???

Is the prisoner getting free housing, food, medical care, clothing, etc that he would have to pay for if he was not incarcerated?

Exactly!! These people are whining that they have to work so hard... They call it forced prison labor.. I say: If you don't want to do the time, don't do the crime..

It would depend on who they're working for...

It can be...
If they're working for the prison system, that's fine...
If the system is pimping them out then they deserve compensation...

The only way they should get paid, if they pay restitution to the victims of crime...

A person in jail/prison should have a space 6’x8’, a toilet w/hand wash, raised area for a bed/bunk, two blankets (one used for a pillow), one wash cloth, two tbl spoons detergent (per week), and three “squares” per day (1800 calories). Drinking water is at the hand wash.
After the first six months, with good behavior, a prisoner will be granted supervised exercise, in an enclosed area, every other day. Medical care only if a person ill enough to be hospitalized.
The above should apply to every convict….in for one day or life without parole.
No “work”, no compensation, no rehabilitation, no rewards, no TV, no treats…..NO FREEDOM!
