As of Dec 7th 14,000 gallons of Canadian heavy tar based oil has spilled into a Kanas creek in Washington County
This was the largest but from 2010 to 2019 there were 21 oil spills from the Keystone pipeline. Not a danger to mother earth al all

So which mode is safer?
For oil, the short answer is: truck worse than train worse than pipeline worse than boat (Oilprice.com). But that’s only for human death and property destruction.
For the amount of oil spilled per billion-ton-miles, it’s truck worse than pipeline worse than rail worse than boat (Congressional Research Service).
Even more different is for environmental impact (dominated by impact to aquatic habitat), where it’s boat worse than pipeline worse than truck worse than rail.

Relax. Another reason we should drill at home. Damn Canadians. I think Mother Earth as you put it ( certainly not my mother) has way more problems.

We don’t need to drill at home .
We need to stop exporting Our Oil.

We do need to drill at home to become energy independent and be more able to help our allies by selling them some of our surplus oil instead of them having to buy it from a rogue nation.

And why aren't new refineries being built?

We were energy independent until republicans like Trump and Rex Tillerson decided to export our oil for profit.
To ignore this fact makes you all complicit . It is not how things work.
We were already energy independent.
Obama’s policies kept us independent.
Trump exxed out Obama’s independent policies favoring Exxon Profit , over youz .
Stop exporting our oil and gas for profit , and we can be energy independent again.

We don’t need more refineries .
We. Already produce enough oil and gas to be independent.
How will more refineries improve that ?

because it is cheaper to export our oil big oil wants to make money not invest

If we are not energy independent , then , we don’t have a surplus of oil . You can’t have both.
Our exported oil goes to Brazil !!!!!
