Masser Peaver, I have enjoyed your input immensely. I started riding a Cushman Motor scooter in 1958. I have been down two times, both on the Cushman. I took a Honda 750K to Germany in 78 and traveled much of Germany, Belgium, Luxemb0urg, France, and England. I have ridden East to West and viewed both oceans, and from the most southern tip of Florida to Canada. Most state side has been Harley propelled. I had an unhappy experience with both knees in Nam. That eventually became a body response to, I refuse to support you in all of your endeavors.Consequently, I have fallen in love with a 2012 Harley trike that I have had others reconfigure the engine. It functions well! I am on the low end of the age bracket, 79. I will be 80 15 Nov. if God decides that I should be on earth that long.

Looks like you've been monitoring for around three years, so you've read a lot of opinions. Please chime in. Always happy to hear new voices.
Thank you for your service.
I do not know how long I have been monitoring. I do respect the opinion of all regardless of my thoughts concerning the issue.

I'd like to ride my Haley east to see the wall someday before I go away. I have friends on that wall. I've got a sidecar to put on, but I'd like to get a reverse in it when I do. It would make life so much easier.

I have made the ride to the wall, I believe five times. I did the ride the first time at the insistence of my son and I thank him this day for that encouragement. The first time that I went to the wall I stood on the knoll above it and thoughts and tears, I could not control. I am not ashamed of those tears.
I hope you get to make the ride.

I have enjoyed and have been educated by much of the information that I have been exposed to. I spent just over 30 years in the US Army and experienced the two way firing range. I have great respect for all who have been on that firing range. That is an experience that is forever ingrained in the dreams of those who have been there. LogicallyRight, I have reviewed and respected many of your articles. I believe that your cranium was developed for more than just keeping your ears separated . You and I support the same battle group.

uote=jSmitty45]Welcome I Thank you for welcoming me to your conversation. I believe that you and I view the current political situation as one designed to destroy this country. The 45 tells me that I can depend on your support when the chips are down. I have a number of 45s, which I like and they are very effective. Howerver, for buisness I use 40, and 9Mil. because those weapons conceal better for me.

Peaver, is it essential that you have the sidecar attached for you to ride with confidence of safety? The reverse is a starter issue. Please inform me as to how the two must tie together to support your need

The Harley is heavy to begin with, but add the side car then get in a situation where you have to back it up. A reverse transmission would make life a whole lot easier. I could see getting off and pushing it from the front though. My left leg is my weak leg due to and accident. When I'm astride of the Harley with no side car, there's no problem backing it up, but with the side car and still astride there's the floorboard and the side car that's kinda in the way of my right leg.

With a complement like that. I hope we can fight many battles side by side. Lets keep fighting for sanity and freedom and America.

I understand your issue and the need for reverse capability. I have reverse capability with the Trike which is accomplished by reversing the starter motor which interacts with the drive train, and it is very efficient. Have you researched to identify the modifications necessary for your bike to meet your need. I am interested in the components required and the cost associated with equipping your bike to support your desired mode of operation. The modification process intrigues me.
