I understand your issue and the need for reverse capability. I have reverse capability with the Trike which is accomplished by reversing the starter motor which interacts with the drive train, and it is very efficient. Have you researched to identify the modifications necessary for your bike to meet your need. I am interested in the components required and the cost associated with equipping your bike to support your desired mode of operation. The modification process intrigues me.

Thank you for the info on the starter motor, I didn't know of that. The process I was thinking about is, there is a t***smission kit with a reverse with a small lever on the left side of the t***smission to go into reverse. It's about $1,500. I'll definitely check out the starter motor. There are other kits that are much cheaper, there's a small starter motor that mounts under the oil tank, you put the bike into neutral, engage the gear to the belt then push the button for reverse, but they don't have a high survival rate.

Thank you for the info on the starter motor, I did... (show quote)

Thanks for responding. My trike is a 2012 model and it came with the reverse as stock equipment. I must employ two switches on the left bar and engage the starter motor. I am not sure the motor actually reverses, however in reverse it only drives the rear wheels. I must have the t***smission in neutral. I hope I did not cause confusion.

Next time I see a trike, I'll take a close look at it. If it is the starter motor, you should have the same starter as I do. Mine is a 1993 Heritage. I wouldn't think they changed the starter that much.

I lived In Lansing for about a year and in Grand Ledge for approximately three years. I was assigned as aviation advisor to The Michigan Army National Guard for a little over four years. My office was located at The Grand Ledge airport. I have many good memories from that assignment. I interacted with some good folks there.
May you also live long and prosper.
