In Ohio, we had 455 air conditioning in our cars. Not as good as your 480. The cops didn't like that really good air conditioning.

I kinda remember Armstrong ac.
That’s just rolling down the mechanical windows. No electric here.

Back in the good old days if you were old, an infant, or someone with a medical condition, you died when it got too hot. Back in the good old days you didn't have people working in sky scrapers in Southern cities in the summer.

We had beer, and a garden hose and guinea t-shirts. We survived.

👍 The garden hoses were the best. Even the dog participated in playing in the sprinkler.

Definitely the beer helped! And the neighbor's pond. Not the best combination when you think about it, but oh well, we survived.

Did it just not get hot in Summer before? Cold in Winter? How did people worldwide survive so that we can all be here now?
Maybe most are a bunch of spoiled pussies?
Yep, that's my theory, and I'm sticking to it!!

Not only survived, we thrived.
I still feel like I'm wussing out when I turn on the air conditioner at home. Feel the weather, it's natural.

Or developing in the desert, taking water from other places, and using it for fountains.

Vancouver, Canada or Vancouver, WA?

Not a whole lot of difference there, but Canada.

We were too young for beer in the pre air conditioning days. We had the garden hose, but what is a guinea t-shirt ? Maybe we called them something else. We just had used to be white cotton t-shirts.

Not sure, but I think it refers to undershirts. In my neck-of-the-woods, we call them the very un-PC term of wife-beaters

I’ve worn them (sleeveless, a-frame, wife beaters) for 40 years…… ever since a female peer suggested I do to hide my nipples from showing through my high dollar, white business shirts.

Old man undershirts without sleeves. Like a very light tank top.
