Which, by the way pays for the programs the poor benefit from. In 2019, the top 1 percent of taxpayers accounted for more income taxes paid than the bottom 90 percent combined. The top 1 percent of taxpayers paid $612 billion in income taxes while the bottom 90 percent paid $461 billion in income taxes. You hate Citizen's United (as I do) but I never hear you guys mention the billions donated by the Teachers Unions, Public employee unions, and the Trial lawyer's Union, to name a few. Kinda hypocritical. You have no idea what's coming if this administrations foreign and domestic policies move forward.

Why do you call people liars? Just because you don’t agree with what is said from their perspective. Of course the top 10% are going to pay most of the taxes! They have most of the money!! Don’t give me any nonsense. The richest 1% controls over 50% of the stocks and mutual funds. Bottom 90% control about 11%. In 2017 the corporate tax rate went from 35% to 21% this doesn’t reflect the combined corporate rate which includes state and federal taxes reduced by the fed deduction for state taxes paid! As you know there are huge loopholes in the US Tax code which has helped 55 of the largest corporations to pay 0 taxes!
Accelerated depreciation, off shoring profits, stock options and maximizing Corp tax credits! All designed to escape paying more taxes. The richest Americans control the game by exploiting tax loopholes, shell corps, trusts and other shields to wealth. The 5 wealthiest families saw an increase of 2,484% in wealth since 1985. Our tax dollars have been used to help the wealthy through subsidies for years so Capitalism has benefited from social programs and vice versa. So reality is the tax structure is tilted to the wealthy as the wealth gap widens. I am not anti money making and I believe in a capitalistic system with purpose. I’m not going to feel bad if the wealthy or top 10 % have to pay more. I’m not sure the unions put $billions into lobbying but they too should be restricted. I believe Mega churches and the NRA should ante up too! My problem with the inequality is it is drag on economic growth and is continuing to foster political dysfunction and leads to the rise of so called populist leaders! The wealthy as we know can exert power and control and this outside influence will continue to erode trust in democratic societies, spreading Authoritarianism. We must offset this by making sure that economic mobility remains a society goal so workers can move up the economic ladder. J m o

The first 70% is taken from present or future wage earners. The rest is recouped by cuts in staff and services. I am not for loopholes for anyone. There should be no subsidies. Well if corporations would not pass any loss in profits onto the wage earners and consumers…. When is enough $$ enough??
I said I don’t think the unions spend billions! I didn’t say they don’t spend money on elections! My sister was a teacher and a union member she worked under a contract which was collectively bargained without it she would have been paid shit wages so in some instances and occupations unions are necessary. So Covid happened and now they are no longer moving up the ladder? Like I said shit happens and things change it’s why you have light bulbs instead of oil lamps! It’s never gonna be like it was in 2018 so suck it up and move on. Real wages for millions were $7.50 to $9.00 hr.!? Higher now but inflation is eating up the increases for now along with oil prices So I never mentioned a tax increase but if you reduce the taxes you are reducing revenue too so something has to go! I dont mind paying my fair share if only the money would be spent where it is truly needed which rarely happens. So if there is no way to make the Uber wealthy pay their fair share then why are we discussing this because that is where it begins and ends. Trump, Biden , Bush, Clinton, Reagan Obama it doesn’t matter because they can’t control the real power brokers and if they get close they are gone. I knew all along George Carlin was right.
