Just take a look at the Spanish Flu of 1918 it hit hard k**led 675,000 Americans probably more. Lasted about a year and a half! There was no treatment or v*****e there were 3 waves. It continued worldwide for about another year k*****g nearly 20 million! It had little to do with going back to normal as you say …..as a v***s runs its course it mutates and luckily C***d lost its deadly power but still can cause illness and death. Compared to 1918 we have much better tools to fight this v***s and a much better medical understanding to deal with it. The spread in the US might have been much more had we had air travel to every major and minor city like in 2019-20. In 1918 the US population was about 103 million and much more rural thus restricting the spread somewhat. The flu epidemic started on an Army base in Kansas probably carried over by soldiers returning from Europe.

The C***d v***s has striking similarities to the Spanish flu and the regular flu when all things are considered. Seems they are going to run their course regardless of what we do and what “medicine” we come up with. The difference??? We didn't shut down the world or cause economic destruction, we didn’t lock people up for 2years or take their freedoms away with dictatorship demands..And we didn’t have governments spreading h**e, division and retaliatory injustices to its citizens either..

We’re 2 1/2 years into this mess with it continuingly spreading on a worldwide basis depending on which article you want to believe. As for medical understanding no, I’m sorry I must disagree. One, we still don’t know where it actually came from and two, we still have people getting sick from it and three, it’s a v***s that’s going to continue on an its every day course just as the one you mention did and four, lifestyles need to continue rather than be deterred by wh**ever measure is thought needed… Nothing we did changed any of the results those are the facts and the reality. Oh sure we can speculate there would’ve been more deaths but we don’t know that for a fact and we can speculate there would’ve been more infected but we don’t know that for a fact either.. What we do now is like the flu(s) we get its going to continue and we just have to learn how to accept it, deal with it and live life….

We are pretty much saying the same thing. Yes we can speculate but I still believe initially it was imperative to take action to stem the v***s as was done and I believe it stopped the early terrible death tolls but hat is IMO. Too bad it became so politicized but I never felt my rights were taken away. Federal mandates for their workers or private industry making rules for their workers is their responsibility. The economy and life changed for sure but the economy has not been destroyed in fact with the exception of high gas prices and inflation it is better off than many thought following a worldwide p******c. I have lived through probably 3 recessions and I remember when there were lines for gas because OPEC put the squeeze on and cut production. America had to change their habits and the gas guzzling cars went the way of the dinos. Americans as usual went back to their old ways and demanded larger vehicles big gas guzzling pick ups and 100 gal RVs. Now after the p******c we are demanding so much fuel we are part of the problem, along with oil companies not refining enough and world instability. We Americans are a spoiled lot and we don’t adjust well to adversity. Oil is a FINITE resource when it’s gone it’s gone so moving to other forms such as hybrid, electric, hydrogen or better public t***sportation is prudent. This inflation cycle will go away just like the many before cycles before it. We must remember we are part of a world economy and are greatly affected by the actions of other countries good or bad. The world population is growing and will be at 8 billion soon. It is why we must conserve our resources and work together instead of allowing partisan politics to get in the way. We know there will be more global p******cs and wars coming and we will need to be ready because the real problem is there will be too many people and not enough resources.

The economy is horrible and going to get much, much worse. The direct result of Biden policies. We have enough oil for the next 400 years or more. If you've paid attention you would know I'm either extremely lucky or knowledgeable about finance and the economy. I called this recession we are about to be in as soon as Biden was elected. This stupid war on f****l f**ls (Biden must be jealous of other fossils) is going to lower everyone, but the rich elites quality of life. C*****e c****e? Just an excuse to seize more control. The Biden administration is purposefully trying to ruin the American model. Family, capitalism, Individual rights. We will have a food shortage soon. Commodities may be a very good investment, though I generally steer clear of that market. I-bonds, TIPS and annuities may give you some protection against what's coming. Along with precious metals. I prefer lead in the form of ammunition.
