We Conservatives are always accused of wanting America to return to the fifties. As is always the case, there is some truth to it, a very small kernel of truth though.

We have ever wanted to have an effective Congress, not one whose rating for effectiveness hovers around 20% or less as is the case now.

We always want a president that is a true and strong leader, not a deranged and demented patsy that fronts an invisible governor or two.

Then too, we abhor the deeply rooted corruption in the legislative part of government that has begun to spiral us downwards as a nation.

We also shudder at the fraud, waste, and corruption that exists in our administrative part of government, with the collusion of major corporations to boot.

Another problem we see is the unwanted encroachment of far-left ideologies in government, in politics, in our K-12 schools, in the universities, and everywhere those radicals can penetrate.

We Conservatives never voted to invite millions of foreigners to walk into the country illegally. We expected our government to uphold the sovereignty of our nation, not open our borders to anyone at all. This was the rule back in the day.

We had a robust economy, and great prosperity in the land, and the scourge of Covid could have been handled without imprisoning the population unduly, thus helping to maintain our economy more effectively.

We have been appalled that our oil and natural gas production has been curtailed by fiat, thereby raising the price of gas far too high.

Yet another wacky idea that has had untold bad consequences is that of The Green New Deal which is at the root of so many fiats. The idea that Global Warming is going to go out of control is, in reality, a Globalist conspiracy to foster a Global Government, and a Global Economy, under Marxist principles of governance. It is not possible to turn down the Sun, or even come close to it, and rational science has shown that the idea of CO2 blanketing the earth is poppycock. Well, perhaps Elon Musk can rocket up a very large sun shield to lessen the radiations of the Sun on earth, sort of like a controlled eclipse.

We thought we got rid of Communists and Socialists back in the day, but these nasty beasts simply went dark until recent times and turn out to be a formidable threat once again. They adopted the title Progressives to hide their real nature and appear to have taken over the Democratic party and its agenda. That was unthinkable back in the day.

Something we seem to have lost today that was very strong indeed back then was patriotism, and respect for the flag, our customs, traditions and our institutions. That is a sure indication of two things: 1) The degradation of our government; and 2) the inroads of the sickness of Marxism or Progressive politics, if you will.

We cannot turn back the clock, obviously, but we could return to close adherence to the Constitution, and get rid of those who would ignore it, or want to change it radically to suit their ends. In my opinion, we do not need the extremism of the Left or the Right, just as we do not need organizations in the country dedicated to our overthrow either. We all can name a few of these, some of which have been around for a very long time.

We have always wanted our schools to teach our children how to study, how to calculate, how to reason logically, how to read and write, how to live effectively in our society, how our government works, and a host of other subjects of great importance, all of this without brainwashing them with ideologies that we disapprove of, such as CRT, or Marxism, or Witchcraft. Back in the day, there was no indoctrination of students into what amounts to foreign ideologies with an American twist that I know of in the 16 schools I attended literally all over the country.

We feel it necessary to call out those who would radicalize our nation in any non-constitutional direction, such as adherents to Socialism, Communism, Gramsci's plan, Alinsky, Cloward-Piven, Islam, or any other traitors of the USA. Once identified, they need to be marginalized permanently, and ostracized as well. They should never see the inside of our government, ever! We need some House-cleaning!

Conservatives recognize that there has been enormous progress in the nation on a number of fronts, even as they have been seriously blunted by more recent interventions of government and actions of radicals. There has been progress in racial issues. Progress in science and engineering. Progress in medicine. Progress in communication, the internet and TV, to name a few.

We also recognize the lack of progress or even serious setbacks in some fronts, a goodly number of which this post has already discussed.

In sum, conservatives do want some of the good things we knew back in the day to be brought forward and integrated into our more modern society once again. We also want some of the bad things we see today to be eliminated forthwith.

Excellent post, and I agree with it all.
If I may respectfully add something: Many conservatives are religious, but certainly not all and I doubt if even most are affiliated with a church. Regardless of countless repeated accusations that they want to implement a theology of one sort or another, it is not true. Conservatives DO want to implement and enforce some sound, positive laws that are good for society, but not for religious reasons. Just common sense. We also want and insist that the separation of church and state be maintained, though that does NOT preclude Christians from serving their country or being elected to office.

It's fine that you want to see old fashioned conservatism return. But don't trash sciences that tell us climate change is a serious problem. It's real, and if libs and cons don't unite to deal with it politics won't much matter anymore.

Climate change is as real as global cooling that was going to freeze us all and global warming that was going to burn us all up. The earth has gone through cycles since its beginning. Climate change is just liberals excuse to exercise more control over the people.

Digital currency based on Block Chain technology will have accurate social scoring (Think China) use high levels of fuel, water for your home/vehicle equates a lower score, nor vaccinated equals a lower score, smoke cigarettes equals a lower score all wrapped in a compliance or defiance package that has the ability to allow you purchase a loaf of bread while denying a pack of cigarettes based on your social score. Don't use much fuel or water, get vaccinated and your score is high enough to buy cigarettes . Reward compliance and punish non compliance. Dozens of factors built into social scoring including Facebook posting (anti-goverment/left/policies ect,) including everything internet, emails, text messages. Have to low a score and public humiliation or even probation using any cryptocurrency for pre-determined period of time.
This is and has been fully implemented in China, spreading use to every major populated city even spreading rural until zero physical currency and China expects to have zero physical currency in circulation by mid summer.
