This fight about abortions has no winners but the left is the one that will lose.
They pull and twist , bend , crank and twirl. If they win good , but that was never the point, the point is always that the left is in a serious fight the right couldn’t really care less about.
The left needs to start taking away the rights of the right. Start with the 2nd amendment. Let them fight their blessed little hearts out about a thing the left couldn’t care less about.
That’s the problem , the fights only affect the left. The right doesn’t win , but somehow we continue to lose.
We need to change the narrative and start going after what ever it the right stands for. I haven’t figured that out yet , but I’m working on it !
A New Narrative.
Throw Shumer out. He always strikes me as some Jewish grandfather who is going to make everything right. He doesn’t and we lose again. He is a
Corporate Democrat who needs to go. We need to get somebody in there that isn’t afraid to kick a trash can down the hallway to make a point.

It’s all a conspiracy HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
I needed a good laugh this morning.
If there is something like abortion NOT mentioned in the constitution then that subject cannot be said to be constitutional or not.
The Supreme Court under the liberal judges have been “creating” law. That is NOT the roll of the court. It should never have been taken up by the court in the 70s. I heard some liberal claim that abortion saves lives. I would love to know how many lives have been saved. We know how many lives have been taken, The first year of abortions
OVER 1 MILLION! I believe that any woman that has an abortion just because it would be inconvenient to have a baby should get her tubes tied. I wonder if birth control would be considered BEFORE the one night stand.

Milosia, we on the right believe in the CONSTITUTION of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, as wrote by our forefathers. The BILL OF RIGHTS, guarantee our GOD GIVEN RIGHTS. The same Rights that the "left" want to stifle: like our freedom of speech (the freedom to say what ever we want, even if it is against someone's ideals or hurts their feelings [remember: sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me]), our freedom to bear arms (our forefathers wrote this into our countries BILL OF RIGHTS to make sure that WE THE PEOPLE could defend ourselves if tyranny ever invaded this country). Well tyranny is currently attempting to take over our REPUBLIC. America has always been on the side of peace and diplomacy, but if pushed too far from the other side's use of force and violence, we will stand our ground and protect our rights and ideals. GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.

Fine. If you want to live in the 18th century.

Illegal? Since 1973? Nope.

In June 1970, a Texas district court ruled that the state’s abortion ban was illegal because it violated a constitutional right to privacy. Afterward, Henry Wade, the district attorney of Dallas County, where Norma McCorvey, the Texas woman in the Roe V Wade case, lived. Wade declared he’d continue to prosecute doctors who performed abortions.

The case eventually was appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Meanwhile, McCorvey, gave birth and put the child up for adoption.

On Jan 22, 1973, the Supreme Court, in a 7-2 decision, struck down the Texas law banning abortion, effectively legalizing the procedure nationwide. In a majority opinion written by Justice Harry Blackmun, the court declared that a woman’s right to an abortion was implicit in the right to privacy protected by the 14th Amendment.

The court divided pregnancy into three trimesters, and declared that the choice to end a pregnancy in the first trimester was solely up to the woman. In the second trimester, the government could regulate abortion, although not ban it, in order to protect the mother’s health, thus making it a Federal law. The SC had no right to just make a state law into a federal law without due process.

No I don’t want to live in the 18th century but that leads one to ask. I wonder if all the babies that were killed by abortion would have liked to live in any century.

No “babies” were killed. Quite a few are put in dumpsters or left at firehouses though.

This comes from a place that is taking several evolving things into account...different pressures.

To start with Collins, Murkowski, and Manchin seem to be stunned or appalled that recent appointees literally lied in confirmation hearings about the solidity of Roe V Wade as a foundationally solid president law. They and a lot of others never believed the supreme court would ever go where Alito did in terms of pissing on Stare Decisis.

Already politicians are indicating that they think the supreme court has become dangerously partisan and political to a degree something needs to be done. If one justice bends to public pressure they will be left with softening their position and rewriting Alito's decision to reflect a solider support for precedent. It is obvious that the supreme court kicked a court destroying hornets nest...and the centrist side of the court is going to be pressuring them to cave.

The senate can rectify this, and part of that is deciding if the are going to tolerate this level of deceit...and yes they probably would but they are going to be facing career ending elections at home in states that had close margins and more democrats registered than republicans. This is a move that will catalyze even moderate republicans. One key shift may be towards ending the filibuster so as to be able to modify and fix the supreme court.

Sure, I would like to live in the 18th century. Back then men were men, they protected and provided for their families, they worked from sun up to sun down. They provided what the family needed to survive while the women provided a home for her family.

The SCOTUS 5, as “originalists”, work on the fact that when the Constitution was written, women were considered property.
That and Kavenaugh and Gorsuch lied like rugs during their confirmation hearings.
