Thoughts - Call me a traitor, a bot, a nazi, a commie, an ignorant fool, or anything else you feel like, but I stand where I stand

I just listened to a Ukrainian government official explaining how World War III is already here... And urging the West to act...

The sheer idiocy of this situation is getting to me... Not just the lies, propaganda is to be expected during war, but the willful ignorance that people are embracing...

Simple logic dictates that we avoid this war at all costs...Yet there are government officials in the West who are advocating for full scale conflict...

Firstly, look at the Zelensky government... A corrupt group of sleazy politicians who have been waging genocidal war on their own citizens since 2014... Thousands dead in the eastern Ukraine, including children... Media outlets censored, political opponents jailed, and a government that is led by a clown...A group who donated more heavily to the Clinton Foundation than any other nation while Hilary was secretary of state and during her campaign run... A group that employed the crack addled son of the US's current POTUS (and Biden isn't the only politician with a child in the Ukrainian oil gig) and gave him millions for doing nothing... A group that is ranked as one of the most corrupt democracies on the planet...
Back to the heroic Zelensky.. A Jewish comedian who joked about being a nazi, robbing the Russian nationals of eastern Ukraine, and laughed about the Obama led coup that ousted the duly elected government of his democracy... And who now nobly leads his people to slaughter while he sits in safety...
This is the "democratic" nation that the West absolutely must go to war to save????

Second, we are hearing about how Russia is bogged down and having supply issues...How the Ukrainian people are holding them back... How droves of Russians are dying, deserting, or losing motivation... Despite lacking a single corroborating piece of evidence to support such a narrative!!! Bullshit...
One need only look at the changing map over the past seven days to see that Russia has been following a strategy of slowly encircling from Eastern Ukraine, North near Kiev, and South from the Crimea... All the while taking out strategic targets like military and government installations... And leaving an open corridor to the West to allow civilians to flee from zones of conflict...
We're not seeing these Russian casualties...
We're not seeing them bogged down or begging for gas...
We're certainly not seeing Ukrainian civilians engaged in combat with them...
Nor are we seeing any of these so called deserters...
We ARE seeing one of the world's premier fighting forces execute a series of masterful maneuvers focused on pushing the Ukrainian military out of the East, capturing the capital, and preventing as many civilian casualties as possible...

Third, we keep hearing about how the Russian populace has been kept ignorant of this situation... How soldiers have had no idea what was really going on... How the people of Russia have been hoodwinked by their diabolical dictatorship...
Coming from the West I understand how people might believe that...But we're wrong... Russians have access to the internet and social media.. They're not a bunch of ignorant peasants living in squalor... Around the world we hear the voices of Russians speak out... Both against, and for, the conflict... Like us there are those who deplore violence, and those who feel it is necessary... Which Western conflict didn't have supporters and dissenters??? Remember how righteous we were when we attacked Iraq (just one example) and saved ourselves from the imaginary WMDs???

Fourth, the idea that somehow the world is aligning in support of the Ukraine, and against Russia... Absurd... Yes, the West is, and several of our allies...Japan has seen fit to resurrect their argument over the Kuril islands (Land lost during its epic defeat during World War II).. And there are other nations giving voice as well... Certainly...
But where are the BRICS nations???
Let this sink in...
Brazil isn't sanctioning Russia..
India isn't sanctioning Russia...
China isn't sanctioning Russia...
Even South Africa, a member of the British Commonwealth, isn't sanctioning Russia...
These are the fastest growing economies in this century.... These nations represent half of the world's population and a large percentage of its economy... And they are not aligning with the West to support war against Russia... (Although, it should be noted, each of them has expressed their wishes for a swift and peaceful end to the conflict)..
This doesn't even take into consideration that Russia is debt free and hss $600 billion in reserve... That Russia is energy independent... That Russia is agriculturally independent... And that Russia's economy has been under sanctions for decades... Do we really believe they didn't see this coming???? And that they haven't made preparations???

Fifth, Putin is evil... Ok... I'm going to give you this, he's one bad mother of a leader... Not someone I'd ever want to have a grudge with... A man that has done things most of us probably don't want to even think about... And I get it if you don't like him.... But no one is asking you to like him...Or even agree with him... The point being made here is that we don't need to go to war with him, but he certainly felt the need to go to war with us...
The West's encroachment in Russia can be viewed as nothing but antagonistic... Our repeated failure to act in good faaith has led to a point where tryst is no longer an option... We've demonstrated that we believe Russia to be evil and will act accordingly to justify this view... Look no further than our reaction to a democratically elected, pro-Russia government in the Ukraine... Or five NATO expansions to the East despite our declaration that we would not take one inch...
Or just look at our own sheer, brutal hypocrisy...
Putin is evil but we bomb civilians in the Middle East...
Putin is evil but we back demonic despots like Saudi Arabia...
Putin is evil but we have instigated coups around the world to unseat governments we disapprove of...
Which nation have we raised up in the past thirty years since the Soviet Union collapsed that we're so much better than Russia???
So please, hate Putin, I doubt he cares... And pray for the people of the Ukraine, I certainly am...
But stop pretending we're the heroes in this play... We're not... We're not even the goofy, good-hearted stooges...
We're the arrogant, gungho dicks who led a nation to believe we had its back as we urged it towards a war it could never win...

World War III sounds pretty shitty to me... Especially if fought upon these grounds...
I just listened to a Ukrainian government official... (show quote)

A gigantic plateful of food for thought.

As always, CD is thoughtful and thought provoking. I question how 'devout' Putin is, though. Just as I have the same question about Biden.
I know people who have been witnessing in the Ukraine. Starting churches, and running revivals. But they stay out of even discussing the politics of the region.
What I find mighty interesting is how quickly some liberal folks have swung around and are so very ready to send our newly woke military to fight and die in Ukraine and for Ukraine, and seem to look at the chance of a nuclear exchange as "Oh, well. Putin will do what all monsters do. We MUST 'take him out' anyway." A nice sanitized way of saying to murder, assassinate, or kill the leader of a foreign nation. Such words seem to slip very easily from some lips. It wasn't too many years ago that a federal leader was verbally tarred, feathered, and run out of town by the liberals by just suggesting that America could probably survive a nuclear war.

Closer ties to Russia wasn't an option the West was going to sit down for...

I don't know if your media is playing it...But in southern Ukraine the Russians have captured a city...They're now bringing in food and supplies to ensure the safety of the citizens.... Brothers indeed🙏

Definitely not covering that. Cover Russian military helping people. Oh no, no coverage for that!

Ukrainians in China are now going on social media and pretending to be Russians...

Trying to convince people that the Russian people have been lied to...

Amazingly difficult to verify or find sources which talk about anything but the "righteous" Ukrainians and the "horrible" Russian devils. People like CD are one of the only sources of alternative views.

I recently watched a video of people trying to get in to Poland.

If you are a Ukraine the Ukraine guards let you through.
However if you happen to be black students the guards will not let you through and they force you back.
A reporter interviewed some of the students and they said they had been trying for over two days and that they had to sleep on the ground and no one offered them food or water. May be some racist over tones there.

As for the Eastern Donbass region since 2014 one of the main forces attacking the area has been the Azov regiment.

I have those videos too...

Funny how the Western media didn't want to divulge that...

Also Indian students...

Media in Africa and India both covered the racism...

MORE SCARY! ! ! The American powers that be have decided to send Kamala to Europe to negotiate for the USA and Ukraine. She is the least qualified person I ca think of. My Aussie could do better (if you take the ball out of her mouth).

Ukraine: We need weapons and a no fly zone!!!

Harris: <cackles like a hyena> Weapons are used to fight. For example guns can shoot people and bombs blow up. A no fly zone is an area where planes can't fly. <laughs again for no reason>

Ukraine: So??!!!!

Harris: I'm here to help. <weird giggle>

Ukraine: So help!!!

Harris: We're sanctioning babushka dolls and pulling Russian dressing from the selves. <crosses arms and laughs>

My wife keeps asking how she made it to government, let alone became a lawyer...

I suggested affirmative action... But that was before her time...

I have my own theories... But then I'd be called a tin foil hat nut job....

I suspect every 'accomplishment' on Kamala's part has been achieved from a horizontal position. She doesn't have two synapses to make a complete connection in her brain.

A lot of people think she made into government by gazing at a ceiling during er-uh-well close meetings with male politicians.

Most of the time we do, some time they seize power on their own.
