Vlad loves taking a page from Adolf Hitler's playbook. Hitler agitated the Germans in Sudetenland, which was part of Czechoslovakia. That gave him an excuse to demand the weak and pathetic Western Allies hand over Sudetenland to him. Of course like Vlad is doing now Herr Adolf swallowed up all of Czechoslovakia.

I'm fairly sure China and North Korea are watching the West closely. China sooner or later will test the West over Taiwan and North Korea just launched a missile. The bad guys are forever testing the resolve of the good guys.

Unfortunately when the West is weak, countries like the Ukraine have the citizens murdered.

This is really not about the bad guys. They are always there ready to attack. It is always about whether the good guys elect weak and stupid leaders. Thank God Angela Merckle is finally gone in Germany. Right now Joe Biden has been forced to put on his big boy pants, but I doubt he is up to the job.

It depends on your viewpoint. Unlike many of my countrymen, I believe in my country. Now if you please give me examples of that which you speak.

What Vlad is currently doing is the same as if the US found some irate Canadians in some Canadian province, and used that as a pretense to invade Canada. Now in fairness, we did that to Mexico in I think it was the 1840s. That is how we got Texas and California and a few other parcels. Now that we have thoroughly ruined Commie-fornia, we really need to return that to Mexico as damaged goods. I think we will keep Texas.

When Russia gave up Ukraine we all agreed that they would NEVER be part of nato and would never have missiles on Russia's borders. Biden offered them nato and sent them missiles. He wanted a diversion from his failures and that is the real cause of this war...BIDEN!

I've just finished reading 7 pages of comments, and I have a few questions and observations:

1. Someone called Putin "a God-fearing man". What God? Mars?

2. Someone said that the Russian advance was slowing to limit civilian casualties. I nominate that for "stupidest statement of the year" award. Several other posters refuted it very well, and now even Fox News opposes Putin's war.

3. The Biden-bashers were all there. As usual, they could not offer any suggestions of what more he (or anyone) could do to have stopped Putin from invading the Ukraine, or what more he should be doing now.
Please, guys, if you think Putin was wrong at least remain silent instead of encouraging Putin to think he has some support here!

4. Germany had already said they would oppose Ukraine's entry into NATO, so that excuse for Putin was never there.

5. Putin's alleged fear of the "natzification" of the Ukraine, the Ukrainian "genocide" of Russian speaking Ukrainians, and concern about being surrounded by NATO appear to be entirely bogus when seen in light of actual world history:
Putin has flat out stated his intention to reconstitute the old U.S.S.R., not necessarily with the same name. He is actively doing that: he took part of Georgia; he took the Crimea; he supports sycophants in former U.S.S.R. countries.

Look at what he did and now does instead of listening to fabricated excuses and justifications.

Many on here have suggested what weakling Biden could have done. We should have officially, as the big dog in NATO assured Putin the Ukraine would never be admitted to NATO. Takes away Putin’s excuse.
