As a left leaning progressives I see a different cause. As I see it those on the right are asserting control over everyone.

Now for a conservative this makes perfect sense for the well-being of the Union but for a liberal it seems like tyranny.

You need to make a clear distinction between political parties and ideologies.
Republican and conservative are two different things, as are Democrat and liberal.
There are liberal Republicans and there are conservative Democrats.

However, Progressives are another matter altogether. Progressivism has infected politicians of all parties.

Conservatism has no place for tyranny, which is not the case for Progressivism.

I hate to bust your bubble but watching a Broadway musical named Hamilton doesn’t make you an expert on Hamilton and Burr. In fact, Lin-Manuel Miranda took great historical liberties with the script and portrayal of each person. The less than accurate script tends to lionize Hamilton and unfavorably depict Burr. Try reading (and learning) about both by reading their own writings and those of an honorable historian.
