I completely agree with Dr. Carson's take on this. Risk should NOT outweigh benefit.
We are getting our 8 year old vaccinated as soon as it is available. She is in 3rd grade now and has been home schooled since the halfway mark of the first grade.. There have been several out breaks in her school and one of her teachers died so we took no chances with her. I want her to be able to go to school and socialize with other kids and I hope vaccination will make it possible. Please don't judge me as paranoid. She was a micro preemie and has been hospitalized several times because her lungs were not completely developed when she was born.

She might be one of those exceptions because of the pre-existing respiratory problem. Does her pediatrician agree that she should have the vaccine???

You’re being very foolish and I pray you won’t regret it. We have no idea what it will do to children. The pandemic is over until China’s Wuhan lab comes up with something new. Some children have been paralyzed by the vaccine and pitted against the fact that no child died from Covid, should make you think twice.

If the pediatrician recommends it, the parents have very little choice, to be perfectly frank. The parents can get 2nd opinions which might help but in the end, if a parent has a recommendation from a Dr to give the vaccine to the child, the parents decline it and the child becomes one of the 1 in a half million who get it and die, they won't be able to live with that. If there is a bad reaction to the vaccine, at least then the parents have the load of guilt lifted. Regret maybe, but not guilt. We lack the info to know if the risk of the vaccine outweighs the risk of having Covid for the little guys. Given the political environment surrounding it, we simply cannot trust any of the "data" we have.

no We are not being foolish. Funny how everybody got vaccinated for polio and smallpox and there was no anti vax movement.

You are, of course, correct in your assessment, but until Wuhan comes up with another CCP virus, it’s over for now. Every serious virus we’ve had has originated in China. What can we do?

Do you think her God-given immunity isn't enough? Homeschooled and in the 3rd grade. So she isn't homeschooled, she is in a tutored situation with other children? You're her parents and it's your choice. Not what I would do, but 100% your call. I wish you all the best. She's God's gift to you two. I'd demand to see what's in the vaccine first before allowing her to be injected. And look up all the things in it first. That's your job. To protect her. The box the vaccine comes in should include all that data. If they say they threw them out when they put them in the refrigerator, I'd do a little dumpster diving or look in a few trash cans first. Her safety is up to you and you alone.

I certainly would not judge you, sounds like you are making decision based on your child's medical history and social exposure. Please don't judge other parents who believe they don't want to risk putting a new vaccine into their child's body based on the data available so far.

Obviously, you want to kill her and getting the vaccine is a good way to do it. You know the vaccine works on the heart and lungs of children.
