Some of us realize that the very best and most important thing to do is to PRAY for others! The Bible teaches us to storm the heavens with prayer………….then feed them! Fill their souls first, then fill their stomachs! 🙏🏻

Prayer is a last resort. People need basics like shelter, food, clothing, beds to sleep in, cold weather attire. People can't eat prayers. Yes, I am all over the loaves and fishes thing. We have a Padre for their spiritual needs.

I do a lot for the people I work with. I give them love, attention, I help them manage their money... whatever they need.

Randy, dishwashing soap is an expensive commodity because dish soap is nontoxic. Nontoxic detergent is the best cleaning product a person can buy for their household. Dishwashing liquid can, therefore, be used as shampoo, body soap, laundry soap, general wash for the household. You get the idea. When you consider the ways in which dish soap works, then it is easier to understand why it's a luxury. It's often the only detergent people have.

Wisconsin has very cold winter seasons, and the churches don't open their doors when their flock crowds around the doors. This is one reason why I dismiss the *religious* option. Someone in a poor way needs compassion, empathy, food, socks (always the most needed), warmth... Let's get the homeless people taken care of, and THEN we can pray together.

In the last three years, we donated tools and construction supplies to Habitat for Humanities. We didn't take the tax write-off. We have done a lot of donating. Clothes, toys, bedding... all in, we have donated over two tons of carefully packed and curated items.

Lindajoy, you are more cynical than I am. The Root Causes of Poverty are complicated and difficult. No one wants to be in poverty. One of the top root causes is lack of mental health care. We do our best for our people, but it's dangerous work, with high burnout. Instead of judging ME, why don't you go with me to one of the sites (I serve six sites a week). Bring your slow cooker, or pressure cooker, and have it full up with homemade stew or thick soup.

I am nasty because I believe that conservative people think that poor people are poor so they can get free stuff. This is so not true. I consider the *Holier Than Thou* thing to be judgmental and punishing. And, yes, I find it unbecoming behavior, and I see it as profoundly sinful and hypocritical.

Most of the work I do is volunteer work.

I can't even believe you said that...and you know what a hungry person says about your jesus christ, thank god for the food. If you tried to feed their soul when they are hungry they would say tell god to F***off

Your dish soap B.S. is as bad as your political B.S. Everyone here especially the older needs to know that your suggestion that it be used for bathing is outrageous. Dish soap is a powerful degreaser, and as such , will destroy the skins Sebum, an oil produced by the Sebaceous glands in the skin, and eventually the glands themselves.
This opens the skin up to all kinds of pathogens and is a major cause of eczema.
You are a danger to society in more than one way.

Tell me something, Kitty kitty………why do you think some people find it so necessary to brag about how much they help the POOR?

What is the big deal about dishwashing detergent…….and it’s not all non-toxic! I seriously doubt if anyone that is in need of washing dishes will be checking the label! LOL!

Where in the world did you come up with the BS statement below? 🤯

“Wisconsin has very cold winter seasons, and the churches don't open their doors when their flock crowds around the doors. This is one reason why I dismiss the *religious* option.”

So, if you had to chose between teaching someone what is necessary for an eternity of peace, comfort, love, happiness, and Jesus Christ OR an immediate temporary full stomach and clean dishes……..which would you chose?

Are you a half full glass kinda girl or a half empty glass kind of girl? The thing is…..you can have a full glass just knock and the door will open, seek and you will find!

When we open our hearts and help others we are doing what Jesus commanded us to do, along with spreading the gospel! We can do both at the same time…….we don’t have to choose. By helping them in any way that they need us we are demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ!

And remember, TexaCan, if you read my post to her soap idea, she also is pushing the death shot.
A real credible halfwit for folks to listen to, huh?

Lindajoy, I live in a blood red county in a purple state. The taxes are very low in this county. That addressed, I don't see many conservatives at the sites I serve. My people are Black and Brown, mainly. I have a few with severe and debilitating disabilities, multiple felonies, severe mental health problems, and... single mothers. My colleagues and I develop close relationships with our people. We also connect with several nonprofit organizations.

I could go on and on, but it's hard to go to that mental/emotional place on my day off. I know a lot of people are offended that I exist, but maybe it's clearer now.

I LIVE in Wisconsin. I don't brag about my service, and you don't get to judge me.

If you have seen what I have seen, you would just thank me for my service.

After all of that, eat some horse apples. I don't answer to anyone.

You don't know much, do you? Dawn dish soap is acceptable for cleaning up oil spill victims, like birds, turtles, sea lions, seal, and many other animals.

My politics come from 50+ years of fighting for progressive policies. It's not my choice that you LOOK like you are a pinched bird.

Now kittykitty, you know you don't work. You haven't worked in years! You volunteer?
You are on your computer(s) 24/7 with all your sock puppets. You help the poor...LOL.

Don’t worry, by all indications, one day you will not only believe what he said, you will understand what he said! Hopefully, it won’t be too late!

We are not offended that you exist, we are disgusted at much of your vulgarity and your hate filled attitude towards conservatives and Christians! We read you loud and clear!

I got news for you! I can and do judge you by your words……all of your words that make up the many lies that you have told! LOL!

You brag because you want and need other’s attention! I would love to believe some of what you are claiming, but you have lied so many times about so many things……..well, why would anyone believe you now?
