This is one of those party line accusations, that because you say it is, it is. Well my friend, no not quite. And in your keen sense, do you think this problem has just emerged, or, ohhh... I dunno, do you think it has been happening for, let's see now... decades?

During the Obama years, we were to busy spending on recovery, then Trump came along and you guys had it all sewn up with complete control, spent money, {by creating more debt,} like it was going out of style, but on what pray tell? Where was all the infrastructure being done that was needed desperately?

So now here we all are, and you guys are now screaming and hollering about our debt and needed transportation infrastructure, so my only question is...

Can't you guys see how completely transparent you are?

What you just said makes no sense to me. I am talking about the supply chain problems in the country, from the large ships waiting to be unloaded at our ports, to the lack of trucks and truckers to distribute the goods all over the country.

Those have not been going on for decades. While our Secretary of Transportation is on child leave, the transportation system of the United States has been degrading.

This is why it pays to be specific when referring to a transportation issue. If er're talking infrastructure, yeah, that's been a problem for decades if you're talking about the current shipping problem, obviously not.

The right screams less government, but the minute things get out of control they want the government to fix the problem instead of the private enterprise and free market handle it, why is that? And when it isn't immediate you then b*+ch about the government. Seems we're in a lose lose scenario. The five factors for the problem...

As carriers deploy ever-larger ships, the sheer volume of containers aboard those vessels is starting to overwhelm major gateway ports, challenging their ability to unload import containers on a timely basis. The delays are exacerbated by the alliances carriers are joining to operate and fill the mega-ships.

A lack of chassis has seriously hindered the movement of cargo containers at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

Hapag-Lloyd, part of the G6 carrier alliance, wrote out a lengthy explanation of the congestion and delays at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Chassis, or a lack there of, were brought up nine times in Hapag-Lloyd’s descriptions of the situations at the various port terminals.

truck drivers are the basic unit of transportation capacity and the glue that holds supply chains together. No container or straight truck or trailer moves without, at some point, a truck driver. Even so, trucking companies, especially truckload carriers, often have great difficulty finding, hiring and keeping drivers….

With all the positives that an increase in shipments means at the Port of Los Angeles, there is also the negative of more cargo and more shipping containers just adds to the congestion problem.

On top of all the congestion that was already happening at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, a welding accident caused a fire at the Port of Los Angeles.

This is more of an industry problem, all's fair in love N war and capitalism right, you really don't want big government to step in correct?

Guess the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for.

Now you are perturbing me. The one thing my ego takes great pride in is my clarity of expression. You may hate what I say, but there is never a doubt as to even my smallest nuances of meaning.

My response was perfectly clear in the context of responding to Milosia. He was defending Joe Biden's Transportation Secretary. I think it would be obvious to anyone that my comments referred to Secretary Buttigieg's tenure as Secretary and his department's lack of addressing the current crisis or seemingly even being aware that there is a crisis currently.

When the government in large part creates the crisis, then yes even those of us who are always right about everything will demand the government fix it or get the frack out of the way.

Our economy has been on lock down since March 2020. By the time Idiot Joe came into power, it was time to open back up. However, for strictly political purposes, your boy has decided to keep as much as he can shut down. Keep paying people to stay home. Keep screwing landlords and not letting them evict non payers.

That is why we have these supply chain problems. Your moron Joe has caused it.

If I am ever on trial for my life, I want you to be my lawyer. You are wonderful at making excuses and defending the indefensible.

Most companies grant sufficient paid leave for a childbearing mother to recover from the physical and mental effects of the birth. They do this because they want to retain their talent in a competitive environment. Those companies that don’t are compelled to grant time off, unpaid.

Employees get what they negotiate based on demand and ability.

As for the Pete B., if the policy is 2 months paid leave, he should take it. His adopting a child was not out of the blue, I’m sure some other ineffective swamp creature was able to move in and accomplish an equivalent amount of nothing during the absence.

We all know that the swamp is fully capable of operating at their low level without the presence of the politically appointed figure head.

Let’s take a closer look. Maybe the government should fix this problem because the government has responsibility for the supply chain issue in Los Angeles. The port district is an independent, self-supporting department of the government of the City of Los Angeles. The port is under the control of a five-member Board of Harbor Commissioners appointed by the mayor and approved by the city council, and is administered by an executive director.

The government didn't cause this transportation problem the pandemic of 18 months did. Things have gotten very backed up with everyone staying home, and also not working at their shipping jobs. I think a little understanding would go a long way right now. Instead of the Bash Biden Band wagon.

Like I said, you guys love capitalism and the free market right up till the time things go wrong. Then it's blow the bugle for the Calvary. Well blow away. lol if you think we're in trouble, I don't.

Well, the government controls the port in the sense of rules, regulations, and laws which the companies abide by. But I believe each company hires their help, and it seems this is a major contingency here. How would you like the government to deal with the employment problem, should the subsidize people in?

Keep in mind, what ever the government does assist in, comes out of tax payer monies. So now are we on the heels of a shipping bailout? Perfect. I'd would rather like to see every workable man or woman on unemployment get paid for working at whatever capacity they can to help.

Calvary? 1 : an open-air representation of the crucifixion of Jesus. 2 : an experience of usually intense mental suffering. Calvary? Oh…… wait, maybe you meant cavalry. Words are important, and your choice of words is even more important.

The cause is debatable, who is responsible for the mismanagement and incompetence to minimize the impact is not.

The Port of Los Angeles is managed by the Los Angeles Harbor Department, a unit of the City of Los Angeles. Port of Los Angeles Executive Director Gene Seroka recently met with Supreme Leader Joe Biden to discuss potential initiatives to address the current supply chain challenges.

To answer your question; No, I do not believe in subsidies and or bailouts.

Good, it is being worked on, I'm sure it is a complicated issue and will need time to work out, a little patience may be in order versus bashing Joe Biden.

My bad on the auto correct, didn't catch it. I could see giving Biden a hard time if it all came down on him and he was negligent but I don't feel that's the case. Could you imagine the president overseeing ever harbor in the United States? That's what all the municipalities and offices are for.

It would fall on Pete B. before the president, I have faith it's getting worked on.

Patience? How much patience?

As much patience as our abandoned U.S. citizens in Afghanistan have as they wait for the administration’s assistance to return home?

As much patience as our U.S. border town citizens have as they wait for the administration to uphold our nations laws and end the invasion crisis that this administration created?

Patience my ass. To date, Biden’s presidency has been an abject failure.

Trump came in as a lying cheating POS who divided the country and continued during his reign, so he got what he deserved, Biden had not, except in your right leaning propaganda tabloids in order to get even.
