Reminder, with an example that you should be able to grasp. In WW2, there were 2 sides. The Allies and the Axis.
No negotiations, no give and take, no tolerances. One side would win and one would lose.
Same with right and left in present day U.S. History always repeats.

Well we don't have an 18 mo paid leave, we do have a transportation crises and somehow "I was able to go to work and take care of my kids" work = you do something and I pay you for it, does not = you stay at home and play with the kids and I'll pay you for it.

You people are just completely unbelievable, you really don't know how things work at all, and to boot you're always just stuck on yourselves living in fear of not having, always...me, me, me, and never what is best for the overall country and NOT just yourselves. I guess you'd rather have our tax money pay for more bombs and weapons to sell to support the military complex corporations and killing, you'd rather do that than giving monthers and dads a 6 month leave to be with their new babies, nice, no wonder why America can never rise above as other countries have, and why with many humanitarian issues we like 38th around the world, the Republicans keep holding us down as a country *for* it's PEOPLE!

That outlook, belief, is a bit archaic, yours is brawn over brain, mine is brain over brawn. Unless you are truly pro war, it's negotiations that *prevent them* every time.

He and his husband adopted two children in Aug. But, it is worthwhile to note that we, taxpayers, pay for a fully staffed day care center for 'parents' who have mission critical jobs. I would think he could telecommute or drop into his office to try to fix the shipping issues. It is also worth a note, his husband is not employed. Surely with pete's income they could hire an experienced nanny to help out until the transportation crisis affecting all of America can be fixed.

Why would they need a Nanny if the other husband was playing the Mommy half of the couple and is staying at home! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Try to stop generalizing and categorizing individuals. It’s not always an either or situation. I’m not concerned about what other countries have. I’m concerned about what other countries don’t have; individual liberty and freedom. Rise above? This nation has been the envy of the world for generations, and still is today but to a lesser degree.

We are simply pursuing our basic, individual right to happiness.

Having the absolute military superiority shuts down foreign military attacks before they occur. No negotiation required.

Pussy-footing around in Afghanistan for 20 years was not war, it was tiddly winks.

It is not within the constitutionally outlined responsibility of the federal government to pay for or force employers to give paid maternity leave.

You have a point regarding the military industrial complex. We spend too much without constraint. I would recommend just not spending the money at all over using it for more social programs that breed laziness but sound good

What's the previous POS got to do with this conversation. You guys offer nothing and revert back to throwing your TDS out there. If you want to compare walking and chewing gum, remember your POS needs directions to get off the stage and falls "up the stairs" Yes, I am LMFAO right now. By the way, opinions are like a$$holes, everybody's got one, that's why we ask for evidence.

I'm afraid you're confusing with Trump he was the one with the problem of with walking down a plank, up a flight of stairs, or sipping water with two hands, unable to say words after trying three times.
Yes and that goes for you too, your A-hole and your opinion. Once again I was not the one who stated with the personal insult, that was you, so don't come back whining to me.
you may be LMFAO(?)I'm the last one here LMAO and he who laughs last, laughs the loudest...Bahaha

Interesting perspective, calling our longest engaged war as tiddlywinks, a little bit of an over simplification, I don't think people would agree with that, especially after losing a loved one, being crippled or the number of homeless veterans we now have.

Regardless, I think I know what you mean.

No, you're correct, it isn't up to the employer, but it can be with some give and take from all sides, it can be partially compensated, or paid into by people who would like to have a family, there are many options, and it is a compassionate thing to do, another words, thinking of the human element here and not just the corporate enterprising end of it. How we allocate our tax money is always up for scrutiny.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you seem to feel it's offensive to allow some people time off while they care for their new born, versus giving monies as income to a military corporation, especially when it could have been money saved by just having our regular military do it for a lot less money.

Since the US transportation system is in a shambles, obviously nobody else can do his job.

This is one of those party line accusations, that because you say it is, it is. Well my friend, no not quite. And in your keen sense, do you think this problem has just emerged, or, ohhh... I dunno, do you think it has been happening for, let's see now... decades?

During the Obama years, we were to busy spending on recovery, then Trump came along and you guys had it all sewn up with complete control, spent money, {by creating more debt,} like it was going out of style, but on what pray tell? Where was all the infrastructure being done that was needed desperately?

So now here we all are, and you guys are now screaming and hollering about our debt and needed transportation infrastructure, so my only question is...

Can't you guys see how completely transparent you are?

I'm concerned with what other countries give their citizens, and we, the wealthiest country in the world can't afford to give all of our citizens. Why should some get good healthcare while others have none, that is NOT a Better country, that is living in a country that is worse. Living in a country where you're afraid to lose everything in order to pay medical bills for a terminally sick loved one that is not a better country.
To have your child start out in life buried in educational debt, is not a better country.
I have sad news for you, the only people who are envious of us, are the poor and suppressed from dictatorial countries, ie. not Western European countries.

What I'm trying to point out here is we're losing ground, and we have to come together to fix ourselves before we try and fix anyone else.
