Good idea.

Ohhhh, I see it's so much clearer now, you feel the 27% are the correct ones and therefore not on the losing side.......Ok then, I see your logic........yep.....real clear.....I mean clear as looking out my back door after my dogs have been slobbering all over it all afternoon!

No percentage of believers will alter the truth, or make them a "winning side". The correct views are the "winners", no matter how few they may be. This is not illogical. Belief in an unprovable supernatural agency is not logic in any event.

I'm religious, and so are 73% still in this country....
Do you like being on a loosing side,----

73% ? Maybe. I've seen much lower numbers, especially among younger people. Maybe t depends on what you mean by " religious" Anyway that's beside the point. The point is that this country was founded on the principle of religious freedom. Why does anyone have to be a looser? Are you saying that those who do not believe as you do are looser? Sounds like it. If so that's a pretty narrow minded and intolerant vewpoint.

Roy , you haven't changed a bit. You know that I'm not an atheist but you put that out there anyway . I never said that I was an atheist and you know it. I'm agnostic. I respect atheists but they , like the religious can be arrogant in claiming to hold the absolute truth about life and death. For that reason, I hold the door open a crack and accept the possibility of God. Can you get that?

Well, they'll inflate the numbers; it makes them feel better. Agnosticism, not Islam or Christianity, is the fastest growing viewpoint. These people will join the ranks of other failed religions, and for the same reasons.

What are you talking about? What failed religion? Agnosticism is not a religion. It's more of a philosophy and how has it "failed" ? Is everything that you disagree with a failure?

Sorry I wasn't being clear. Agnosticism is indeed a viewpoint, not a religion, and is increasingly successful. I was referring to the failure of religion, which has happened plenty of times and will likely continue. I'm agnostic myself, BTW. Not everything I disagree with will necessarily fail, but I do reject proven failures.

So what are those failures?

The failures of religion? Take your pick. Islam turned the once-advanced middle east into a backwards horror. Faiths involving the Greek, Egyptian, Norse, and many other pantheons have been discarded. Christianity is responsible for its share of atrocities. Today's Christianity, particularly Dominionism and the new-earth creationists, is pretty much turning people into violent morons. People are turning to agnosticism because science delivers, religion doesn't.

Wait until, you have some TSA Agent running his charming who knows how dirty hands through your hair!

My hair happens to be waist length. The last three times I flew anywhere, they required me to take it down out of the plaited knot and ran their grubby little hands through my hair. They then decided I needed to be patted down, because gosh if my hair did not have an incendiary device maybe my body did. They have no idea how close to incendiary things were. They did the same with two other women. Be assured, rinsing waist length hair in a ladies room sink is no easy task. As a get even, they kept telling me I must take off my belt. I very smirkingly told them I would be unable to comply with such a request. They told me, "You have to." Again I I formed them I could not comply. They asked, "Why can't you do this?" I looked them straight in the eye and said, "Because I do not have a belt on!" It is sometimes the small things that bring pleasure.

The claim that "73% of people are religious" means absolutely nothing. It's like saying 73% of people think the moon is made of green cheese. Doesn't make it true, and the people who say otherwise are not "the losing side", especially if they're correct.

You sound (mental). What planet are you from, or maybe you are islamic ?????????????????? Loon:

Then the 27% are loons also, these are Statistics provided
by the Councils of Christian churches, Are then you saying that those 27% are correct,
and those with the 73% "stats" are wrong, and you are ONLY one that is correct????? WOW...How Sad is your life !!!

Even if I were the only one (and I'm not), your 73% can still be wrong, and frequently is. I put my trust in experimentation, evidence, and testable theory. You put yours in a batch of Bronze-Age scribbling, interpreted to suit your whim. "Sad" and "mental"? You certainly qualify.

Indeed. I'm not inclined to give praise to any agency which demands worship under threat of torture. Islam and Christianity are pretty similar that way.

Christianity, (or rather Catholicism, which is not the same), no longer has an Inquisition. Christianity holds the threat of punishment in the afterlife. Muslims are more pragmatic. They will nail you in the here and now, and let the afterlife sort itself out.

Muslims and Christians have one thing in common: Members of both faiths cherry pick which tenets of their faith they will abide by, with convenience, rather than devotion as the criteria. There are plenty of hypocrites in both faiths.
