8 ways to solve the national debt crisis:
1) Every time someone posts an email that misspells a word they should be fined 25 cents charged to their debit card. The money collected should be sent directly to the IRS and used exclusively to pay off the national debt.
2) Every time someone posts an email that does not use correct punctuation they should be fined 25 cents charged to their debit card. The money collected should be sent directly to the IRS IRS and used exclusively to pay off the national debt.
3) Every time someone posts an email that does not use correct capitalization they should be fined 25 cents charged to their debit card. The money collected should be sent directly to the IRS and used exclusively to pay off the national debt.
4) Every time someone posts an email that misspells someone’s name they should be fined 25 cents charged to their debit card. The money collected should be sent directly to the IRS and used exclusively to pay off the national debt.

5) Every time someone posts an email that derides another’s name they should be fined 25 cents charged to their debit card. The money collected should be sent directly to the IRS and used exclusively to pay off the national debt.

6) Every time someone posts an email that derides another’s physical appearance they should be fined 25 cents charged to their debit card. The money collected should be sent directly to the IRS and used exclusively to pay off the national debt.

7) Every time politicians pass a law that demonstrates that it cannot do its intended function in a one year test (more gun controls that the bad guy will ignore yet handicaps the good guy comes to mind here) should be charged half a year pay and removed from office permanently. The money collected should be sent directly to the IRS and used exclusively to pay off the national debt. The law should also then be rescinded.

We would all be broke, but think how much less educated you would be, not being able to listen to reason.

Every time a craporate action defies the public interest, the rogue craporation should be convicted of a crapital offense and have its charter revoked, with the selloff of its assets going into the national treasury, unless it is in the interest of the citizens to nationalize the dissolved entity, as it was for Venezuela.

Ron- As most who post, you clearly have not thought this through. Yes I agree with your intent. However, involving the IRS in any function is a lesson in futility. They are unable to effectively coordinate their arm of bureaucracy now. By funneling more of our money into an already corrupt system, would prove nothing.

Hmmmm…I sense a lack of humor in our society, what a shame, I also sense a lack of ability to read and understand that which is written and the factitious in which it was intended. I am a person who reads what another has written and try’s to understand it – It is sometimes very difficult to give serious credence a persons opinion when what they have written contains so much or so many misspelled words, improper grammar, incorrect word usage (definition), maligning a person’s name, maligning a person’s physical characteristics simply because they don’t like what another is saying or represents – makes me not want to put any effort into understanding the point they are trying to make – if they are trying to make a point other than to deride them.

grazeem -- I understand being broke – but less educated? Not able to listen to reason? Or are you trying to be funny? I can’t tell! How does proper spelling make one less educated? How doe’s proper grammar, proper punctuation and capitalization, and less deriding of a person make it difficult to listen or to reason? I am confused please elucidate!

60srad – this is a free enterprise country – craporations have the right to gouge us for every penny we are willing to pay, are you suggesting that we go dictatorial, or communist? I do sometimes think that a craporation that closes its plants here and moves them off-shore should have its owner and or the board members who voted to do so have their properties bought out at fair market value, their citizenship revoked and then be deported too their country of choice (the country they sent their plant to?). Their former properties then sold to the highest bidder (with financial aid if necessary) and reopened with the ability to undersell the original owners pricing – the intent here is to put the departed (now foreign) Co. at a marketing disadvantage anywhere! Take that you self centered money gouging corporate CEO slobs!

WhoIsJohnGalt – Good thing you provided that web address otherwise I was thinkn’ you where S__T__G me! Where at in my list did you see a fee for cursing? Though usually I’ve found that cursing is the inability to formulate an appropriately negative (or otherwise) statement – I frequently have this affliction!

Slingblade68 – ‘effectively’ – ‘coordinate’ – ‘bureaucracy’ - and the ‘Government’? I’m laughing!!!!!! The Government it seems can't find its own butt with both hands! Unlike most who post, I have thought this through, I recognize the futility – I have NOT even the minutest thought of there being an improvement in peoples’ writings. But I wanted to make the point!

As it is said – You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time!

That is and was precisely my point. I apologize if I in some way offended you. However, I simply was making a suggestion. By eliminating the IRS. I thought you were being serious. I misinterpreted your intent. Nevertheless, there is no reason to belittle my response. You also took my words and message out of context. Now, if you would enjoy some semblance of civility and afford me the opportunity of a reasonable discourse on the subject , have at it. Concerning , my spelling, Grammar etc. That is what editors are for. I never claimed to be a wordsmith.

Respectfully, Joseph

Mr. Joseph
I don't know how to put one of those smiley faces into the text of anything I put here - wish I did. I didn't mean to degrade anyone. But like I implied I see so much - for the sake of the proper word 'illiteracy' in many written comments. Sometimes you really have to study and decipher what the writer is saying to get their meaning. And those that just can’t seem to talk about a subject that someone is saying or doing without demeaning them because of race or physical characteristics – well their meaning gets lost on me with even when in spite of their nastiness they may have something of value to say - I tend to discount them. Wordsmith? I’m a high school dropout and I seem to have better writing skills than some – you’re excluded! (smiley face here). As for your offer to talk about government competency MAN do I have a lot to say – let’s do it!

Ron-
I anticipate an enthusiastic debate. Now that we are on a Firm footing. I'll put aside the fact that I have a tendency to run-on a bit. I agree with your observation of the fundamental lack of literacy in America. I unfortunately might be the poster child for same. However, I am willing to have a rational, reasonable dialogue on any issue. Provided I have time to research the topic.
As you have already ascertained, I do not relish the thought of being "Out-Done" or unprepared. To quote the youth of our nation.. Bring it on. :)
Respectfully, Joseph

And away we go!

Though I will tell you that I have no taste for digging into facts and figures since I don't have the resources and as you probably know 'bean counters can make the numbers lean the way they choose'. as for the lack of literacy (in this case blog responses) I don't know what can be done about that - some of it I think is just sheer laziness on the part of the writer and some is as in my case being in a hurry!

What a way to live huu? No cursing, but I do wish people would take the time to look up a word for its spelling and meaning before taking on writing a comment about something. And I for one find no use in belittling a person because of their appearance etc. It just makes them seem childish and thoughtless like a bully and makes me tend to discount their response.

Hear , Hear,
Regarding the general blogging populous I would have to say I agree with your "Laziness analogy". Complacency might be another comparison. "Precision of language is Precision of thought" . So to rush through anything would annoy me. I suppose I should insert some type of acronym. However, one eludes me at this juncture.. I have recently seen WTF.. Still can't bring myself to use it.. I appreciate the reply.

Yep you’re correct, I merged one of my ‘points’ with a different one to eliminate pettiness which deleted one Item, and I failed to notice it or change the title to reflect the number of items.
As it is said: ‘Haste makes waste’.
