This is the New York Post's recount of Bergdahl's disappearance:

"One night, after finishing a guard-duty shift Bowe Bergdahl asked his team leader whether there would be a problem if he left camp with his rifle and night-vision goggles — to which the team leader replied “yes.” Bergdahl then returned to his bunker, picked up a knife, water, his diary and a camera, and left camp, according to Rolling Stone. The next morning, he was reported missing, and later that day, a DRONE and FOUR FIGHTER JETS ­began to search for him. Weeks of searching turned into months." (It is being reported on other websites that a half-dozen died while on missions to find Bergdahl.)

The military pushed his parents and fellow soldiers to SIGN NONDISCLOSURE AGREEMENTS - allegedly for fear that he may have defected.

However, once Bergdahl was released and airborne, he scribbled the letters “SF?” on a paper plate, seeking confirmation that he was with Special Operations forces. “Yes!” one of the troops hollered. Bergdahl, 28, who had been held captive nearly five years, broke down in tears. Apparently, he was relieved to be in American hands - so his story may need to be investigated thoroughly before we know the absolute truth. While it is unclear whether he will remain on active duty, a senior U.S. military official said the Army plans to promote Bergdahl to staff sergeant next month.

As to the GITMO GUERRILLAS:

All five were MAJOR TALIBAN OFFICIALS AND CHOSEN BY THE TALIBAN FOR RELEASE. ((Get that? We actually allowed the Taliban to choose which jihadists they wanted!! Are we the U.S.A. or what?!!)

According to Pentagon dossiers leaked by Wikileaks, details on four of the TALIBAN DREAM TEAM REVEAL:

• Mohammad Fazl was the terrorist group’s former deputy minister.
• Abdul Haq Wasiq was a former deputy minster of intelligence.
• Mr. Khairkhwa was a former heroine trafficker and Taliban governor of Herat.
• Norullah Noori was personally asked by Osama Bin Laden to participate in northern drug wars.

All five were assessed to be high risk, in other words — likely to pose a threat to the U.S., its interests and allies. But no need to worry!! One of the restrictions these jihadists must "suffer" is that they are unable to travel from Qatar for a year. So rest easy, America. Obama has made it safer for us all.

Sec. of Defense Hagel said in a statement from Singapore, where he was attending a security conference. “Sgt. Bergdahl’s return is a powerful reminder of the enduring, sacred commitment our nation makes to all those who serve in uniform.” (Why is it that I get the impression this statement could somehow be defined as an attempt to mitigate the VA scandal? - Precedence, I guess!!)

I have always been very respectful to authority, both military and governmental. But this guy really scars the hell out of me!
I would feel a lot more at ease about this President if a Mental Inquest was given to assure me that he is up to the task of leading this country for the remainder of his term as President.

Obama just committed treason. Those are strong words but if you examine the facts of this weekend's "swap" with the Taliban, I think you'll agree. I have included resource links below.

In short, what Obama did on Saturday amounts to treason.

It sounded so good -- Bowe Bergdahl, a U.S. POW, was finally released from the Taliban after five years in captivity.

But like all things "Obama," just below the surface an entirely different picture is revealed.

Fact #1 -- Obama just released the notorious "Gitmo Five" -- top Taliban leaders who have been the focus of Taliban efforts. And Obama did this in clear breach of the law in an end-run on Congress.

Included in this "Who's Who" of Taliban leaders is the Taliban Military Chief of Staff, a senior military commander, and the minister of intelligence. At least two are wanted for war crimes and all are directly connected to Al Qaeda.

And Obama did this in clear violation of U.S. law and without Congressional approval!

To do this under any circumstances during a time of war could raise this action to the level of treason. This fact alone is ENOUGH for citizens to be outraged and take action.

But it gets worse ...

Fact #2 -- Bowe Bergdahl openly expressed animosity toward America and was thought by those in his platoon to have possibly deserted.

There is a very disturbing fact pattern surrounding Bergdahl's "capture." First, prior to his disappearance from his unit, Bergdahl openly expressed his disillusionment with the U.S. military, writing in an email to his parents that he was "ashamed to even be American" and "the horror that is America is disgusting." Just to be clear, those words were written before his capture.

His fellow service members have questioned from Day One the circumstances of his "capture" -- and the government has attempted to cover this up by forcing them to sign non-disclosure agreements. One member of his platoon said Bergdahl "deserted during a time of war and his fellow Americans lost their lives searching for him." In fact SIX SOLDIERS DIED trying to get Bergdahl back.

Generally, when members of the military "slip away" from their company, they are listed as either AWOL or traitors. Bergdahl must answer for this.

Fact #3 -- Bergdahl's father, Bob Bergdahl, appears to be a Taliban sympathizer who called for all the Gitmo prisoners to be released and blessed Allah during his White House press conference!

jacquil, perhaps you missed it during this weekend's media splash and hug-fest at the White House, but Bob Bergdahl began his comments by reciting one of the most important Islamic phrases from the Koran which means, "In the name of Allah, most gracious, most compassionate."

Even a cursory review of Bob Bergdahl's Twitter account would cause any reasonable person to surmise that he is, at the very least, a Taliban sympathizer. Only days ago, he deleted a tweet in which he called for the release of "all Guantanamo prisoners" adding: "God will repay the death of every Afghan child, ameen!"
