Republicans saw nothing wrong with taking extreme right, not just hard right conservatives, but the flaming nut job christian fundamentalist type of person, too often not even judges with a history of decisions to categorize them. They rely on the federalist society picks of people they know will push an extreme right religious agenda. They pick people who see nothing wrong with publishing papers on extreme right views, and take speaking engagements with fundamentalist groups even though judges in theory are supposed to maintain a strict appearance of non political bias or partisanship.
This isn't a secret or fake news that republican judge appointments are hard right of the right, it is openly dicussed by McConnell and other republicans that they have done an outstanding job packing the courts with right wing judges that see and will do things the conservative way...this is the facts.
On the other side, the fear of the right that dems will pack the court with liberals is not the way it is. Obama's nominee that McConnell refused to seat was a pure centrist that actually was a republican that leaned slightly to the conservative right. As a centrist he maintained a strict adherence to the law regardless of what his personal views are.
Dems will "pack" the court with centrists, my guess is that they will shoot for a slight lean to the right so that even republicans can support them as better than a hard left liberal.
The fact of the matter is that republicans are not interested in centrists that will actually adhere to the law and constitution, they want hard right ideologists that sees nothing wrong with putting conservative "values" ahead of the laws and constitution on issues like abortion, voting rights, and gays.
Courts needs to be packed with more centrists to offset the right wing nutjobs...the real solution is staggered term limits, a larger court, and every administration appointing. The job the supreme court has is too important to be served by a lopsided conservative court.

Pleeeeze- The Biden Administration and the Democratic held Congress are nightmares. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds. Listen to Beyer, Biden and Ginsburg on stacking the court.

If in your post every single word "right" was replaced with "left", you would be much closer to the truth. But you won't, because you are not interested in the truth. Your idea of "centrist" is RBG. Her and the other three vote exactly how Pelosi wants them to, each and every time.
As far as Christians are concerned, you think EVERY Christian is a nut job, and all should be forbidden to be a judge. Your idea of "centrist" is half a bubble to the right of Hillary Clinton.
But your false lying fraudulent opinion is duly noted.

This "flaming nut job Christian fundamentalist" suggests that you read Romans 1:18-32. You and many like you on the left have been given over by God to a debased mind. You prove it in your posts.

It can’t be a lopsided leftist court either. The democrats aren’t going to appoint better ones.
Your posts fail because you wrongly think democrats would do a better job. Hate to burst your bubble but they’re every bit as corrupt.

Judges are not to be left, center or right of anything. They interpret the constitution. Where the constitution speaks they interpret. Where it doesn't speak, they should remand the issue back to the states. It is as simple as that.
Abortion is a great example of that.
