Who forced them to go into debt. I worked my way through college no debt. Quit taking the easy way out and wanting someone else to pay for your mistakes!!

I have no problem paying for the military and what it does but I think its obscene to put the tax payers of America on the hook for bad investments of all these young know it all's and the failure of academia to provide them with some kind of knowledge that would translate to a respectable paycheck. Anyone who believes that taking money from one person and using it to pay for the bad choices of another person is as dumb as basement bribem

Agreed!!! Just like the Dept. of Education itself should be abolished, period!!
Leave schooling to the states, on a state level, not the feds!!!
interesting fact since the dept. of education was established our gov' education system has dropped from number one to barely in the top twenty in the world....
No loans should not be forgiven. My daughter and I are still paying for her student loans, an obligation that we willingly signed up for. I do not want my taxes increased to pay for someone else’s loans.

Excellent point, Gatsby. Also, perhaps everyone who paid for a college degree without getting loans .. people who worked and saved for it ... or whose parents worked and saved and sacrificed for it ... and those who worked during college instead of partying through four years to pay for it .. should be reimbursed. It seems only fair to me.
I can't see having one without the other, it seems the left likes to penalize those who take personal responsibility while rewarding those who don't.
One problem with government becoming involved in anything like this, whether as lenders or as arbiters of private sector debt is that they create an environment where potential creditors are less likely to lend money to people who don't have sterling collateral or as yet haven't had the opportunity to establish good credit.
Speaking for myself, if I were in the credit business and I had an applicant who had, government intervention or not, defaulted on college loans, I wouldn't lend him a dime -- he will have already established a pattern of screwing one or more lenders.

No wonder students sold on Socialism. These young aren’t being taught reality or responsibility. But entitlement The tuition forgiveness is the “cheese”. Then $$ runs out no such thing as free lunch. Then here comes Venezuela. And other Socialist run countries. Poverty, hunger, joblessness. What else can be said?
So easy to hoodwink these kids. It’s abuse of power on politicians. With socialist agenda.
Young are the future my dad and uncles and brothers who fought for our freedom and liberty some even died. My dad was badly wounded, but he didn’t let that get him down.
Was our fight for Liberty and Freedom for nothing. We helpped our allies and now this?

Heck NO. My kids have paid their way and they’ve paid for their kids. Now all their rich friends who encouraged their kids to get student loans will have said loans forgiven. Please, have a heart. If it’s worth having it’s worth paying.
