No... With modern medical techniques it is insane to think that that could happen...

What's sad is that so many have succumbed to a disease that is far less virulent than the Spanish flu...

What is sad is the governor's failure to protect the elderly early on; 80% of the deaths in the US are of people over the age of 65 (and 65% of those people were resident in nursing homes) while only 6% are under the age of 45.

We are all well aware of the statistics.
All 3 of us are over 70 years old and are aware if any one of us gets it, we will all 3 likely die. We still go out and this Friday, plan to get take-out from Dixie Crossroads and take it over the causeway and eating outdoors next to the bay.

I can't find Iliamna1's post to reply directly but he is not under a death sentence with Covid-19. Even those over the age of 85 have only a 10% death rate, meaning 90% of that age survive. For those age 70 the death rate is 3%. While the extent of pre-existing underlying conditions is important, on average those age 70 have a 97% chance of surviving Covid-19.

I appreciate what you have to say. However, I've had a 4-way CABG and pace maker implant, and I also have Diabetes (controlled) and an ongoing infection in my right leg with de-gloving of most of the skin in the lower portion. Couple all that with COPD (controlled), I and my family, with all their other co-morbidities, we tend to be VERY cautious. There are no spring chickens on this farm other than the chicks my sister bought this spring.

We do. Would you have sent a box of Chinese paper towels to me. We cannot figure anyone who would sent them and I surely didn't order them. They're quite soft. There are 12 separate plastic bags with a cute floral design. If it was you, thank you. By His Grace, Iliamna

I saw Dr. Fauci on the news a week ago or so recommend an N-95 mask covered by a surgical mask for aged people with multiple co-morbidities. Might be hard to breathe in the South this time of year though. I always wear an N-95 when I leave the house.

[quote=Mikeyavelli]Chaos after the election no matter who wins.
The blind people who voted for Biden will suddenly see that Biden is the mere titular head, much like Obama was. The kommiecrats will use Biden"s senility as president to their advantage, as Biden might not always be aware that he is president.
The patriotic right isn't going away if Biden is elected, and the traitorous left isn't going away if Trump succeeds again.
America will feel the full force of international left's intentions if Biddie Biden is elected. That will surprise some good hearted lefty liberals who had no idea what a Biden presidency would mean.
They won't like it.[/quote
no one will like what happens IF sleepy dopey joe gets near the white house .
