I have a few cousins who are cops or married to one. and I know a few cops that I sometimes work for. My cousin Phil was shot at three times by a suspect and each time he begged the suspect to put the gun down and told him he didn't want to hurt him. The last shot tore the shoulder on his jacket so he killed the shooter. He had a nervous breakdown when he found out the shooter was mentally retarded and was having an episode.

He didn't know that at the time, and defended his life with the means he had at hand.

I don't bash on cops. They're just doing a job that they thought was a calling when they took it.
Sure, there are some power infused dicks out there, but percentage wise I'd say they are a minority.

Just heard an interesting statistic on the news from a black scholar. For every ONE black killed by a policeman there are TWO HUNDRED ELEVEN blacks killed by other black men. So if you are out there protesting the police, you're a hypocrite, dupe, or useful idiot. Because, if you really cared about injustice you would protest the blacks that are killing other blacks.

I'm Big Dolly and I'm an Independent because both the Democratic party and the Republican party have been disappointing to me, so I study each candidate's profile, public service history, etc., then pick the one who I believe is best suited for the job. I guess you could say that I'm like an employer going over job applications and resumes.
As for your questions, a black man, George Floyd, died while three police officers had him pinned to the ground. One of them, Derek (?) Chauvin, had his knee pressed into Mr. Floyd's neck. At some point, one or more of the officers realized that Mr. Floyd was in some kind of medical distress and called 911, yet all three officers continued to keep Mr. Floyd pinned instead of attempting to administer first aid until an ambulance arrived and as a result, Mr. Floyd died. I watched a news video several times, Mr. Floyd made no attempt to resist arrest that I could see, anyway. You can Google the video of Mr. Floyd's arrest and draw your own conclusions, but this much I know: two of the officers, Derek Chauvin and an Asian officer, Tou Thao (this may or may not be the correct spelling of his name) have a history of complaints against them. It's believed that Mr. Floyd's death was racially motivated since Mr. Floyd was black and Officer Chauvin is white. All four officers were arrested and are charged with third degree murder and manslaughter, at least that's the last I heard. The protesters are calling attention to police brutality and racism and the need for reforms to curtail these problems nationwide. As for the looting, vandalism and arson, those perpetrating these crimes are simply opportunistic and care nothing for justice or reforms. I hope this answers at least some of your questions.

No shit Sherlock. So by looting and calling for defunding of police departments their message of unnecessary violence by police will be looked upon as making sense. That is perhaps the dumbest excuse for letting a group get away with destruction and stealing of property I've ever heard. BLM is a movement started by three anti-American Marxists and funded by George Soros, whose destruction of our capitalist society they freely admit is their goal. The dummies protesting and supporting BLM are just more useful idiots.

You would think the BLM racists would want to defund Planned Parenthood for murdering their millions of black innocent babies!! Haven't seen any black groups rioting and calling for justice over these millions of murders!

Keep the police, I would rather see leftists defunded, deballed and shipped to North Korea or Siberia to work at hard labor the rest of their lives. Utopia would finally be realized throughout the world with these sicko leftists gone.

I think defunding the police force is an idiotic idea -that's obvious. My thoughts are police sometimes need to police themselves when it comes to neccesary force used on arrestees. Look I know if you are a jailer for instance you wind up beating down drunks that want to fight sometimes. I know cops get shot as soon as they walk up on a car sometimes. Cops get beaten up breaking up fights and helping women in domestic disputes. I know it is bad. There does need to be mental help for this kind of stress. Your attitude can make you think everybody is shit when you deal with shit every day. Where do you think that leads? Not to condone the deliberate killing of Floyd Brown but it should have been avoidable. I want to believe there is going to be an awareness now and an honest effort in our police forces to help officers cope with stress and train all in guidelines that do not result in beatings and deaths of those who are in their custody.

It always amazes me how blacks have made heroes out of the thugs that have dragged down our society. All these recent blacks that have been roughed up by the cops have had extensive rap sheets. I haven't seen one black with a clean record. Let's make blacks who are hard working, honest and have no rap sheets the poster people for black society and not the criminal element.

That's a nice answer coos. I think they want lots of free stuff. They want "black privilege." They want control. They want groveling and begging for forgiveness.

Let me tell you. My folks worked side by side with blacks in the fields of east Texas. My mom, 5.0 ft tall, 90 pounds, picked cotton with bleeding hands with my dad from sun up to sun down. Her take on the blacks was that they were afraid of everything and could not take pain.

My folks will yield no compensation, monetary, social, psychological, or what ever. Not will I.

We are equal. We have equal opportunity.

Time for all races to get to work.

It reminds me of my younger siblings who would get mad when I won something and then pitched a fit because I was older and didn't let them win. Pretty much the same thing. My older sibling never let me win either. Oh, well.

The Bible tells us to love our neighbors as ourselves! Which means we all love equally! We respect one another as human beings created equally by God! We all bleed red!

For some I suspected the earnest desire of more acceptance and peacefulness.

For the others, the rioters and looters they don’t want anything but more of those things to take place, it’s their nature, it’s their game, it’s their opportunity without accountability or being arrested and put in jail for their hideous acts of destruction...You can’t change that, lack of character and moral standing isn’t something taught it’s something that already exists within yourself. Pretty sad isn’t it.

I can only say the change to a more just and inclusive society depends on how much effort all Americans will put into it. If that makes any sense. It can't be demanded it has to be a volunteer effort or it will never happen.

Like it!!! Absolutely right that will never work until the individual wants to make that change hoping that it’s a lot of individuals that want to make that change. Forcing will never accomplish anything.

We also need to stop grouping everyone into one category and recognize individuals or just that.

Looting in the cities seems to be a well-orchestrated process. Film shows that as soon as windows are broken in stores, caravans of cars and vans pull up and people emerge to rush in and grab whatever they can. It was a tragicomedy to watch the crew pouring out of a Victoria's Secret store with armloads of bras and negligees.

BLM is a movement to bring attention to violence against black suspects. Rioters and looters are just criminals run amok.

You don't remember yesterday? Floyd was a hoax. An excuse, police brutality too but mostly to allow the animals to run free.
