By her statement, she seemed to be looking for advice...."Businesses in my sister's neighborhood has been destroyed... almost all of them...It's getting really close to home . .." So, when you are surrounded and outnumbered, you basically have 3 choices...you can fight, run, or blend in. Choice 1 will get you killed or injured. Choice 2 would be the last option if you are unable to blend in. Choice three will ensure you still have a home and your life. I am Jewish, I learned this quickly when I was very young and have had the need to quickly discern when to employ it throughout my life.

It was just sage advice, nothing more.

No, but the kids at school were brutal! I can not tell you what pleasure they seemed to take in beating me up simply because I was a Jew. Keep in mind the timeframe, many Americans were opposed to American entering or fighting in WWII. People like Henry Ford and Walt Disney indoctrinated Americans with borrowed Nazi propaganda. It was not just adults that came to believe the Jew to be inferior, they educated their kids to hate the Jew. And those kids, went to school with me. Those who lost someone or came home crippled had to be my fault. If it were not for the "stinking Jew.." It was not just the ghetto whites, blacks kids found if they joined in haranguing me, for that moment in time they had comradery with their new flash in the pan instant friends. So, I learned when to exercise my options; fight, run, or blend in. I learned how to not to be noticed, to be the "invisible kid", the class "dunce." I learned not to complain when I became their scapegoat, their "joke", the dumb patsy. Funny thing, I doubt they knew my name.

So there you have it....thanks for the unpleasant trip down nightmare lane.

The thought process:
1. You suggested Larisa join in with the rioting and looting...
2. You stated that you made the suggestion because joining such activities was a method of protection...
3. You insinuated that you had used this strategy personally, due to being Jewish...
4. You told a very painful story of bullying and abuse from your childhood...
5. I assumed that you joined in the antisemitic behavior so that the bullying would stop... The protective measure you spoke of...

Obviously I missed something or made false assumptions.. Hope I didn't cause any duress...
