No matter the knowledge of the failing health of the suspect, the actions, and later inaction, to remove his knee from the suspects neck and throat area, will be of most concern for any criminal indictment of the officer. Cause of death will be a defense matter for trial.
I beg to differ, the hold did not cause death. The officer's knee was not even close to Floyd's throat. The hold was a taught procedure at the police academy. So he employed a city sanctioned/approved method to restrain an individual who could, according to his preacher, carry up to 30 folding chairs at one time... weighing up to 11 pounds each. A behemoth of a man who eyewitness say was resisting arrest.
