I am not sure what a 'jealousy" God would be or do, but not being a believer does not make you some sort of alien or something. I am a strong and conservative Christian, but I cannot recall ever insisting that unbelievers join me in praising Him-in fact, I prefer that you not, since it is more of a mockery than true praise. Not sure who you have in your circle of acquaintances, but the Christian faith does not condone asserting nor pretending anything. I believe there is a God, and I also believe that there are people who, for whatever reason, do not believe it. They will discover soon enough if they are correct or not.
Meanwhile, please do not pretend to believe something you do not believe, nor be reverential-for whose sake? The people you are dealing with? Why? Yoicks! No one should make you feel uncomfortable to the point that you feel you must hypocritically say you believe something you don't. In the interest of full disclosure, I will tell you that you will be in my prayers-nothing demanded of you-I will simply be talking to my Lord about you-and He knows all about it anyway, so not telling any tales here. And if, as you suggest, He does not exist, no harm, no foul, right? I wish you well, and please get a better more tolerant class of people as friends,
I am not sure what a 'jealousy" God would be ... (

I was raised in a very cultish large and extended religious family. One chooses one's friends, once one is able. It is another matter to deselect family. And as the twig was bent.... It's been an interesting journey!
