Thank you, doing well along with my family. Hope all is well with you and your family. Got a suspension from admin, offended a thin skinned poster and got reported. Decided to take a little hiatus from all the hate mongers on OPP.
Unfortunately law enforcement is funded by taxpayers and many aren’t supportive of LE until something like this happens. There are federal grants available for LE, but they are very specific on how funds are to be used, dependent on the request. Many departments request funding for many other community programs, MADD ( Mother’s against drunk drivers), Gang task forces, anti drug addiction and on and on. President Trump has made lots of funds available for protecting LE. If you notice most of the cities being decimated are run by Dems, coincidence or by plan to affect our upcoming election? A better LE agency needs equipment and constant training of personnel to deal with changing society. We had a previous President that didn’t help with his divisive rhetoric about LE.

Individual equipment fall under state budget, not federal. Wars, Peacekeeping, or conflicts are funded under federal budget.

Where I used to live the money from tickets went to a criminal victim fund.
My son never got a penny though when the drunk driver hit him head on on a four lane highway.

I hope your son is doing well. I tried my best to keep drunk drivers off the road. It was mind boggling to see so many drivers on the road with suspended DL’s, yet still driving.

He's fine.
The sad part is the drunk escaped the hospital while city police and highway patrol were arguing over who got the case.
They caught him a year later in California .
I begged for him to be prosecuted because I didn't want these two teenage boys to think that drinking and driving is ok.
Unfortunately, it never got to trial and the guy murdered his own brother.
Many drunk driving arrests.
An old car with one headlight and no tail lights, no tags or sticker.
I told the highway patrol guy the insurance was in the glove box.
He told me there's no glove box.
I went and opened it to see the radiator up against its door.

I hope your son recovered completely. Many of our DUI’s in Mexifornia were illegal and would head south before their trials. Very frustrating as a LE and heartbreaking for the victims and their families.
