I'm going to try Blade's experiment tonight... Going out with a couple of guys... One is a cop (financial crimes, but used to work in the religious section).... He's going to cuff me and kneel on my neck... Not for the whole 8 minutes... But long enough to give me an idea...And not with his full weight....I'll be sure to have a few first (so it's as accurate as possible)... Chuckle...

To be honest I imagine it would be difficult to breath after a while just laying on my stomach with my hands cuffed...

This thread is excellent...

Blade.. Cheers.. Well reasoned and researched...

PR... I know you feel the same way about the rioters as I do... And I share your horror at the thought that police officers would act so irresponsibly...

Gocubs... Intense... Glad you don't hold back... Nicely done on this thread.. I don't understand why the KFC remark is racist... That stuff is trash and leads to early death regardless of race....

Pennylynn... I agree... There were certainly other factors... I doubt it was the kneeling that killed the man... But it was also unnecessary... There were four officers and one hand cuffed perp... Also, I haven't seen any proof that he was passing counterfeit bills... That was just the original complaint... What happened to innocent until proven guilty....

NWTK.. Exactly... This is something that I'm glad we agree on... The officers (all involved) have some explaining to do...

I've been busy for this past week or so... But WTF????

Get this under control... ASAP...
This thread is excellent... br br Blade.. Cheer... (show quote)
Hey, Cheerio, Mate! Was wondering where you ran off to. Bienvenue!

Can you believe WTF is going on over here in the good ol US of A? It's getting really ugly, man.

It appears it ain't a rumor that everybody in the whole freakin world, and that includes many among us, hates us Americans.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment when everybody stands around reloading."

Penny slapped me pretty hard when I suggested she run that experiment, thought I wanted her to die or something.

If you try this, do be careful. Main thing to consider is how well you can breath not how much physical distress or pain you may feel. George Floyd made it pretty damned clear that breathing was a problem. And, from what we know, Floyd suffered medical conditions that hindered his body's ability to absorb Oxygen.

Cheers Blade...

I saw Penny's reaction... Not quite sure how she worked out you were suggesting she kill herself...

I will be safe... My friend is a trained law enforcement officer... And we'll be careful... I'm just interested how bad it really can be.... Hearing him (Floyd) scream was difficult and yet seemed to indicate he could breath....

My prayers go out to all of those officers and law abiding citizens who are suffering... Yep... Certain nations are rather gleeful that the US is having these issues... It's pathetic...

But I have no doubt that Americans will rise above it and emerge stronger than ever

A little... Those were nice handcuffs...

I'll try to get a picture if I do attempt it... Although I doubt my friend will agree to that...

(imagine the stir it could cause... A Chinese officer kneeling on a white Canadian's neck in a mock up of the Floyd incident)

Let me explain. First, Blade did not suggest I kill myself. He suggested that I should volunteer to prove his theory. Blade postulates that the officer's knee on Floyd's neck was the causality of Floyd's death. Blade says the knee restricted/eliminated Floyd's ability to breathe. Further Blade implies that the knee placement restricted/eliminated Floyd's blood flow to his brain. Therefore the officer murdered Floyd.

Blade then requests "Prove it to yourself, Penny, lay face down on the street and have a 180 pound man put a knee on your neck the other in the middle of your back and hold that for 8 minutes." https://www.onepoliticalplaza.com/user-post-list?page=3&usernum=3645

Blade is firmly convinced Floyd died from the knee restraint.....if his theory is right then, the 180 pound man's knee applied to my neck and back would eliminate my ability to breathe and cut off blood flow to my brain. Resulting in death.

He is wrong, but the idea of his request both horrified me and made me re-evaluate our relationship.

I have now said all I care to say about this.

I think he was being sarcastic...

I sincerely hope that you remain safe and healthy....

No, Penny, Blade did not "postulate that the officer's knee restricted/eliminated Floyd's ability to breathe", nor did Blade "imply that "the knee placement restricted/eliminated Floyd's blood flow to his brain". Blade couldn't really tell from the videos how Floyd's physiological condition was reacting to the pressure on his neck. Blade is not omniscient.

Blade did not say he is "firmly convinced Floyd died from the knee restraint", Blade is more inclined to believe Floyd died due to pre-existing health conditions that were directly effected by diminishing his ability to breathe, i.e., kneeling heavily on his neck.

Blade neither defined nor implied a theory behind the experiment. What Blade suggested was that you give it a try so you could be far more knowledgeable about physiological reactions to such pressure on the neck. Experience is a great teacher.

Another experiment that would have similar effect to kneeling on one's neck is water boarding - same principle, doesn't kill you, but puts you in severe distress due to inability to breathe.

All poor old George wanted was a freakin breath of air.

Though I haven't seen it written down anywhere, like in scripture or the constitution - probably find something about the role breathing plays in the overall function of the physiological system in a medical textbook on respiration - but it seems to me that breathing is a God given right.

MY DEEPEST APOLOGIES....You are absolutely right, you NEVER said any of those things... Again, my error.

I went back through what you wrote and found that you had only implied the officer was less than an ideal officer …. not a single mention of Floyd's cause of death.

Because some people who has followed this thread has abandoned it, I feel badly that they may not see this apology, therefore...I leave it to you....should I make a thread with this as the title or send PMs to those people?
