It "may" be worth a shot. One can only hope. I'd like to say it couldn't possibly get any worse, but I'm afraid to do more than whisper the possibility, not wanting to jinx it. I guess the pandemic has made my normally "doesn't-matter-whether-the-glass-is-half-full-or-half-empty, just-have-to-remember-to-refill-it" attitude a little less optimistic. lol I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the "owing of many favors" has seeped into every crack and crevice of Capitol Hill and beyond, like a foul smelling oil, contaminating everything it touches, threatening to suck the very oxygen out of democracy. Past sad, that is. Add to that one, every once in a while, I catch a glimpse in an eye of one person or another on the periphery of the political scene who I'm chatting with that can only be described as being that of a zealot, and usually it is when they are talking about snuffing out the "other side". I find an excuse to walk away. It is solutions we need to be finding, a way to come together, not ways to rip each other apart.
