Should there be a penalty for people who ignore Covid-19 restrictions?

So we have a situation here. Some people think that the Covid-19 virus is no worse than the common flu and that America is over-reacting to the pandemic. Most of us already know better. So if someone refuses to follow restrictions geared towards limiting the spread of the virus and "flattening the curve", and they go out unprotected and catch the virus and bring it home, and a family member gets the virus and ultimately dies, should that person be held responsible for the irresponsible act? Could this be construed as murder or perhaps manslaughter? Or if someone who knowingly has the virus refuses to self isolate and goes out in public, should there be a legal penalty applied? Some European countries have already instituted penalties for the latter that include both heavy fines and jail time.

Hell, we don’t even have the tests to find out who has it yet. If people leave their homes all they need to say if stoped is that they are going to the grocery or drug store. Or better yet heading to the gun store for some ammo, The Idiot Pumpkinfuhrer listed gun stores as “critical infastructure.” I wonder who he was pandering to there? I suppose you could arrest or ticket people caught playing ball or golfing, but what cop in their right mind would approach them? Best to use a bullhorn to tell them to go home. Around here you can’t get a haircut but the liquor stores are doing a booming business.

How you equate spreading truth and fact with hate mongering is beyond me. All I do is shine a light on the words actions and hypocrisy of your idiot Pumpkinfuhrer, the fact that the light of truth exposes a steaming pile is the fault of he and his enablers not me.

What next then? Checkpoints? Here just sign away any rights we have. And when they figure they can do this they'll do more. But go ahead. Bow down lady. Myself, I'll die as the free man I've always been and always will be. And from what I've seen and heard you all can die as good little sheep.

And, par for the course, Kevyboy starts his rant with a fact out lie.
"There are laboratory tests that can identify the virus that causes COVID-19 in respiratory specimens. State and local public health departments have received tests from CDC while medical providers are getting tests developed by commercial manufacturers. All of these tests are Real-Time Reverse Transcriptase (RT)-PCR Diagnostic Panels, that can provide results in 4 to 6 hours."

Kevyboy: Your name and 'truth' should not be in the same sentence....

Thank you for acknowledging that you lied.

It is the first step in your road to recovery.

Yeah the only problem is that unless you are rich, famous or a politician, there is no way you are going to get a test result in the vast majority of this country in 4-6 hours. The new test will change the game though, Abbott labs has one they are starting to ship out in the next week that can be done in the doc's office in 15 minutes. My daughter was tested and it took us 12 days to get the results. There are not enough test kits nor enough labs to get the work done right now. The new Abbott Labs test might be a real game changer. Fingers crossed!

They've got a test now that shows if someone has it in 5 minutes.
