Was going to try a bit of Steak tartare, which is a meat dish made from raw ground (minced) beef but couldn’t do it.. Served with a hot mustard it was a no~ no for me..😂

Yet I was at an Italian wedding that served Carpaccio sn appetizer consisting of raw beef sliced paper-thin, drizzled with olive oil and lemon juice, and finished with capers and onions, worth the taste but thats all... :

That's similar to how we eat it over here... Sliced so thin you can almost see through it...

I love it... Though I rarely eat it... Have to go to a really good restaurant where the quality is guaranteed...

I've tried steak tartar.... I found it too meaty... I only finished half...

I love sushi...

It's the only fish I eat

That would be nice...

Except it won't mutate as a whole...

There will still be the original strain...

It could go the other way too... And become more deadly...

Have you read any decent studies on whether it can survive at higher temperatures? We're getting conflicting reports on that...

Actually, these viruses tend to have similar mutations in masse. It is built into their genome to mutate.

As for temp, the only thing I have seen is that in areas of higher temps, there doesn't seem to be any changes but that is still debatable. Is it warmer in China because it certainly seems to be declining there.

I loved the wasabi I dipped it in, but the smell of the raw fish was too much.
My daughter in law asked me to go eat sushi with her. No thank you.
She can put away raw oysters, too.
I only like crispy fried bass or catfish.

The quarantines have been effective... Not sure if dying out is the right term.... Contained seems more appropriate..

Some studies I read showed that it didn't do well at higher temperatures... But they were conducted at 60-70 Celsius.... Other studies showed it was fine at these temperatures... I can't find a study concerning 20-35C like we get in the summers.... We've certainly had a cold spring so far...

Tried a raw oyster once... Couldn't tell you how it tasted... Was quite inebriated...

I'd have to be.
A dr. in my home town put in a steakhouse.
He brought a raw oyster to my brothers table and told him, if you can eat this, I'll give you a dozen on the house.
My brother couldn't do it.
He should have given him his steak free for trying.

Unless a virus changes, its not contained by short term isolation. Thus, if it doesn't mutate, upon resumption of normal life, it will rebound. The attempted "containment" can only flatten the curve on a graph of new cases versus time. Containment of a stable virus can only really work if there is a treatment of vaccine developed while the containment continues.

This is a virus for the very old. For some, it might even be a gift from God.

Sorry... That's funny...

Why would he want a dozen for free?

It's good you couldn't taste it. Raw oysters remind me of a mouthful of snot. I apologize for that image. They are also dangerous to eat raw.

I don't mind them cooked...

We BBQ them with potatoes noodles, garlic, and chili peppers... With a dash of soy sauce... Delicious
