That’s not where we’re heading. Get rid of the sinking feeling for that reason. Where we’re heading is having the House choose our leaders for us, not necessarily Presidents, but perhaps DICTATORS. Think about that.

It seems that Madison understood that a republic was a form of democracy and often referred to a large republic and a small republic... A small republic seems to be synonymous with a "pure democracy" of which he was opposed to...
As the term "democracy" has many definitions, one of which is "a republic" , it does not appear incorrect to refer to America as a democracy...
