You don't need religion to have morals.

That's why I said if you want it
I believe in the man upstairs. As long as I have faith I will get through life both in the best of times and the worst. My moral structure is simple --treat others the way you want to be treated. Be equitable in your dealings with others and do what you say you are going to do. Be nice to dogs and wave to kids who wave at you. It works for me.

You might want to go back to the earliest recorded human history and do a leisurely history crawl. What you call empathy was originally codified due to the influence of religion.

Peter, you fail to recognize Who is the Author of all True morals - right and wrong, good and evil.
"Devoid of empathy?" No one, absolutely no one should ever take at face value anything an atheist or a progressive says when they insinuate you don't measure up to their standards, especially their redefinition of traditionally and accurately understood words. For example the word " tolerance." Tolerance now means we're supposed accept and be understanding towards behavior, immoral behavior, that previously was correctly understood as intolerable. That's 180° opposite of Truth. It's a tactic called verbicide, the deliberate distortions and murdering the true meaning of a word. Can you guess what "devoid of empathy" means after verbicide has been applied?

Good Morning Canuckus Deploracus, Atheist seem to just wonder around lost and never seem to know what is going on. Canuckus, did you ever read any American Western literature, like Louie L'Amour or Elmer Kelton. "The Wolf And The Buffalo" Elmer Kelton is a really good read.

I like Jack London. I have read a lot of his work. I like the short story where he talks about shoveling coal and when his co-worked left he was working by himself. He shoveled twice as hard, so the same amount of coal got shoveled. Co-worker was not replaced. Jack finally quit. I believe that was a true story.

Don't be knocking SLC. Not bad at all once you get used to the ropes. Most gorgeous women on the planet, IMHO. Tied the knot on the Salt Lake Country Club. Learned to get along with the Mormons, of course, I was one of the 'heathens' according to my brother-in-law. Drink? maybe you had a hard time finding a place to would serve you a cocktail?

Don't know much about Idaho and Washington. Did travel by freight train across Eastern Washington and Idaho when I was 16 year old pup.

The title of your thread is absolutely correct. Your OP is not.
First, if CC's lack empathy, then leftist/libs lack it more, because it's been shown time and again that CC's give more to charity than leftist/libs.
Second, empathy has nothing to do with morals. Empathy is 'I feel your pain'. Morals are 'I won't steal, murder, or engage in fraud'.
Leftist/libs actually support theft, support the murder of newborn babies, and celebrate fraud.
